Holy ****! I actually agree with you on something...well, almost.
I think the "slow-motion" option is over the top. If you're an actual judge, you don't have that option to slow down time like your Hiro Nakamura off of "Heroes". Watching a fight in slow motion is cheating IMO. If you're a boxing fan and know boxing, *insert pseudo-mexican movie accent here*....... YOU DON'T NEED NO STINKING SLOW MOTION!
Of course some people, like me,
have practically infallable memories.
Other than that...spot on....*mumbles* for once.
What is a pseudo-Mexican moive accent? Sombody forgot to tell me.Comment

yeah i know what u talking about. (not to sound ****y) but on the bags(remember the bags) i hit maybe second hardest in my gym and no1 wants to spar me and i asked my coach why dont i spar and he says i hit to hard.thats not ****in cool at all cause i cant do no sparring cause ppl r afraid to spar with me.and every1 even knows i go light in sparring.mind games is a huuuuuuuuge part in boxing, your rightSince you brought up Foreman.....as Liston before him and Tyson after him, they scared there opponets -not all of them of course. The mind game can play a big part in a boxing match.
I remember one time, my coach took us -the whole boxing team- to sparr at another boxing gym. So one by one my coach and their coach decide whos going to sparr. One of my teammates didn't want to sparr this one guy, that looked a bit bigger then him but was a few pounds lighter then him. He was telling my coach how he don't want to sparr him, how i should sparr him cause i weigh as much as him, but my trainer already had me sparr sombody else. Well, it took a while to convince him to sparr this guy. Well, my coach finally convinced him to sparr this guy and my coach went over to there coach and told him he is willing to sparr him. So now my teammate that was at first scared/worried to sparr this guy is now shadow boxing, and i mean he was just letting his hands go, getting warmed up by shadow boxing. Moving, punching, letting his hands fly. Well, guess what happens....the guy he was suppose to sparr tells his coach that he don't want to sparr my teammate, then my coach tells my teammate that he ain't going to sparr today cause the guy didn't want to sparr after all. My teammate said "why not?" My coach responded, "you scared him while you were shadow boxing." True story. Thats why you hear people say in boxing gyms, "man he looks great on the bag" followed by "but the punching bag isn't hitting back." But the moral of this story is somtimes the fight is already won before either fighter even steps into the ring.Comment

I am the same, I have a 2 time minimum of watching a fight before I will talk **** about it. Unless it was controversial, then I go longer and I'll even break out a notepad and do round-by-round scoring. Of course you don't always have to watch a fight twice in order to know exactly what happened, some fights are so one-sided all it takes is one go around.Comment

I'll watch fights over to study technique, footwork, and for entertainment.
But you def don't have to watch a fight over again to be able to comment on it. I watch the fight very intently.
The problem with re-scoring a fight on replay is that you find yourself looking for ways to score it differently. Watch it right the first time.Comment

I've told you before, if you don't get to at least let your hands go in sparring at least once a week, you are being held back. You already know that when you take it easy you can last more rounds, but when you put mustard on your punch you lose steam after a few rounds, especially when you miss a punch, thats one of the worst feeling when you throw a power punch. You should go with you trainer and go to another gym to sparr. Cause even in the amatures there are some killers in that ring. I got one of my teammates boxing match he went up against a guy they called "baby Tyson" fool looked like Tyson in the way he fought, but my teammate ****ed him up, but the Tyson guy still held his own but my teammate hit way too hard for him, it was a crazy fight. My teammate Samoan, as Tua did, he hits like a ton of bricks. Tough sparring is needed cause sooner or later your going to go up against a guy who is as tough as you, as durable as you. And you got to be prepared. Sparring gets you that experince.Comment

I used to watch boxing match over and over again many times to study how the figher lost, to study how the fighter won, or to study a fighers technique or just enjoy the fight. Like the Castillo v. Corrales fight their first fight. I always get caught up just enjoying this fight, everytime i want to study one or the others technique. That fight is just baddass all around.Comment

Oh, you know.....That movie with Humphrey Bogart, "Treasure of the Sierra Madres". At one point Bogey's character is treking across the desert and these bandits ride up on him and tell him to open his saddle bags and he asks, "Where are your badges?" And the actor, can't remember his name, says "Badges? We don't need no stinking badges!" ..and they end up kiling him.
It's a real famous quote; but it's a pretty old movie, so you may never have seen it. I meant no offense...I just didn't know how else to describe it on a computer forum.Comment

You still deserve to be clowned for that because anyone who comes to that conclusion that the fight was a draw is a complete and total imbecile.Comment
