Isnt that the same reason Mayweather scrapped his February "birthday" fight that was scheduled as an HBO PPV, against Cory Spinks who he cut a deal with for November, and then turned around and made the Baldomir deal with a promise to Spinks for the Feb date.

Same reason he and Oscar are going to sit out 7 months?
Mayweather was pretty much forced by Delahoya to give up the Feb. date. Delahoya said if he fought in Feb. then he can't forget about the May fight. Delahoya doesn't want Mayweather to have a tune-up at 154 before thier fight in May.

Urkal is an easy fight for Cotto but don't you think Cotto risk getting injured before or during that fight? There is always a risk of injury or even a loss going into a fight.

I think if one has to take care of his manditory than the other should have to as well. Margarito could use another fight as well so there won't be any excuses of being rusty.

After all this talk about Margarito being the most ducked fighter, looks like he's the one doing the ducking. With 7 months to go before June, you don't think Margarito would have time for an interim fight against his mandatory?
You are aware that Mayweather also had a lot of time to fight somone before he fought Baldomier right? Oh, you wont mention this cause you're biased.

And truthfully, im a bit upset, i wanted Margarito to fight Williams to shut up you haters, in fact if i could i'd make the Williams fight right away, after Margarito heals from his injury. Williams was going to get ko'd, but i wanted Margarito ko him, it wouldn't silence the hate he gets but at least the haters would have to put there confidence in the next attemp at a figher beating Margarito.

I hope Arum, opens his eyes and puts Margarito in with Williams. Arum I gurantee you Margarito will defeat Williams, don't be fooled by the hope or by what you may be reading on a message board by the Margarito haters. Put Margarito in with Willams, easy win for Margarito.

Actually, Mayweather didn't have time because he thought Oscar was going to fight him in September. Also, Floyd Mayweather has a contract with HBO so HBO tells him which dates they are going to give him. Margarito has no such contract, so he can fight whenever he signs on the dotted line.

You think Margarito would knock out Williams? Arum sure doesn't...

Funny that when Mayweather denies Margarito's challenge, he's just going for the more respected target (Baldomir) but when Margarito does the same thing, he is afraid of Williams.

For every 2 people that said mayweather was going for the respected target, there were 20 people calling floyd a *****, saying he doesnt want challanging fights, saying he was scared and afriad. We all know this is a logical desicion by margarito, but boxing politics have finally come to the light for margarito and the tables are turned. Thats what people are talking about. Dont sit here and act like floyd was praised and loved when he turned down the margarito fight, dont spin it like that because that DEFINATELY is not true.

I can't speak for anyone else but I was happy that Mayweather fought Baldomir. I would have preferred he fought Margarito, but I was not upset with his decision to fight Baldomir and pick up THE welterweight belt one bit.

PBF didnt have to vacate a belt in order to fight Baldomir. Margarito is vacating a belt. I think its funny how PBF is ducking Margarito if he fights the linear WW champion but Margarito gets a free pass.

Its a smart business move by Margarito because its a huge payday with Cotto but its hypocritcal as all hell.

yes, i agree with you, but if you cant speak for anyone else, why would you by saying that the general opinion is that people think margarito is afriad of williams when its not really the case. its more that people laugh at the fact that hes gonna duck williams for the bigger/better fight, rather than the low risk/reward fighting williams. this is what all the drama is about.

Not to mention, VACATING his belt to do so, floyd had no mandatory, no belt nothing, margarito was mandatory to nobody.
