Taylor's and Solimon's punches did go through. In order to beat Winky you must oubox him in the beginning of the round and he will have to do something offensively to win the round, hell open up and you counter. Other than that Ive seen many fighters try different things and it hasn't worked.

constant pressure. a little elbow here and there wont hurt. maybe a low blow to try and offset his gameplan and his defense.

Get inside, pull the gloves apart...you have to swarm him. This is one fight I would OK the grappling since I think Winky has an unfair advantage with the gloves he uses...Just think, if this was a fight on the street, and Winky didn't have those gloves, could he block all those punches without his gloves?

Every time I see a fighter just try to box, the punches are usually blocked.

The Tarver that fought Glen Johnson the second time around was a punching machine. That exact replica of how he fought would be how one should fight Wright IMO. He never stopped throwing straight punching combos over and over, some of them were pitty pat and others had a lot of steam on them.
tarver is too slow for winky. although i am still giving him the chance to beat winky because of power.

Back to the question, we've all seen slick fighters try, we've all seen power punchers try. More often than not, they fail. Its very difficult because WInky in conditioned to press and not give you much chance to get a breathe or maintain an affective offense. Since most guys dont have to worry about Winky hurting them too much, I'd say take the whirling dirvish, power swarm approach and hope you dont gas too bad down the stretch (be Sam Soliman but with actual hurt power).

The same exact way Taylor fought him except with more consistancy.

Taylor had a fine gameplan. Use raw power and size advantages to bust through his guard and punch in combination. A really good body puncher would give Winky some problems too.
