His experience from the amateurs is extensive, he's seen virtually every style possible already. Of course pros and amateurs are different, but I think Cotto has fought the better opposition anyways. Cotto is just as ready for this fight as is Margarito. Maybe even moreso. A record like Margarito's doesn't mean too much when built against the kind of opposition he's been in against.

I'd bet on cotto too but I definately don't think it's an easy fight for him at all. I just don't think cotto is as good as his last fight let us to believe and I don't think margarito is as bad as he was in his last fight. We'll see, I just want to see him punish williams first cause based on his fight against cintron and his sparring sessions with mora, I can definately see this happening. Styles make fights.

I've been a big Cotto fan for 4 years now and while he answered alot of questions in his welterweight debut in a dramatic fashion I think his chin wasn't really tested that night so I don't know if it's true whats going around in these forums where some people speculate that his suspect chin was because of his struggle to make 140. Also no disrespect to Quintana but once I saw that Joel Julio decisioned Cosme Rivera instead of destroying him I'm wondering if Quintana is a one fight wonder over an overhyped Julio. Before Cotto's fight against Quintana I thought he was gonna lose. Cotto definitely proved me wrong there and I thought him (Cotto) going against Margarito was suicide. Now in my mind Cotto has a legitimate chance of beating Margarito after he showed some serious deficiences against Clotty. But when I think about Margarito just being so big and strong and having a sturdy chin as he does in the WW division I don't know. To me it's a toss up fight from what I've seen of Cotto. But whoever wins I do think will win big. (by KO)

Quintana was very hard to hit. Once Cotto adjusted he got them shots in. Margarito not moving his head alot will make him an easy target. Also Margarito being the taller out of the 2 will give up height when Cotto comes in and aims for that body.

That punch in you sig looks like an illegal punch to the back. I only seen the 1st round of the Cotto fight and flip floped to the Winky-Quartey, so i havn't seen the complete fight. After the first round the Quintann-Cotto fight didn't interest me. You guys like to talk that Margarito has flaws, but you guys are too blind to notice Cottos flaws and that he has many.

So you saying that the punch Cotto threw wasn't legit? Do you not see how Quintana gives up height when he fights? He leans in and that's why that body shot landed where it was. Margarito was exposed on saturday. Yea Cotto has flaws. But you see how Clottey was fighting with Margarito? Ok.. Tony being the taller man will give up alot of height to Cotto when they come close to eachother and start fighting on the inside. Margarito doesn't throw fast compact punches like Cotto does. If they were to fight i think Cotto would shock everyone by an inside punch that drops Tony. Tony is good on the outside when he has an opponent that is going to stand still. Other than that Clottey countered the **** out of him all night. Mayweather would murder Tony.

Tall, long torsoed and a catcher, Cotto would tear him apart. I like Cotto at his new weight, he has the strength now to be the fluid power puncher he can be. If I'm Bob Arum, I keep Margarito as far away from Cotto as possible.

If they go at it and Margarito catches them rib shots and is dismantled in 7 like I think, there is no money in any Margarito bout again.
you will be proven wrong on july 26.

I agree. I can see Cotto winning with a late TKO or comfortable UD.
