    Willie Pep and Floyd Mayweather

"What I want is to do the best I can, make all the money I can, without getting hurt. To me, it's the art of self-defense."

this is what pep said (courtesy of Asian Sensation article), how is it that no one calls or called him a ***** or a girl?

The Mayweather double standard. Haters are never rational...

I don't get it. People love Pep but hate Mayweather. Mayweather is one of the best ever and they can't stand it I guess.

Pep had 200+ fights and fought literally everyone, Floyd obviously did not and is not going to either (different times! different characters? maybe but Pep said that he fought so often because it was the best way ofr hi mot make money).

what puzzles me is how ppl call Floyd a *****, for what he does while in the ring.

It was funny to see some of Floyd's biggest haters posting that Pep, the man who won a round without throwing a single punch, was an all-time great while continuing to spew venom at Floyd. It just seems so ironic...

Foreman also said somthing like, 'once you win a title, the job of a champion is to make as much money as you can, with out taking a risk.'

Yes, I mentioned back when I made a thread about it...I posted a video from Youtube about what people thought about Pep, the quote was in the video.

It's bull**** how Pep is the great master of defense who is known for not throwing a punch in one round and won it, but Floyd, he is boring.

****, just look at the KO ratio, then tell me there isn't something wrong with this picture.

I am not even sure if Pep ever moved up in weight, at least not like Mayweather.

It is a double standard. I think deep down people know that Mayweather is great, they just dont want to admit it because hes an arrogant *******. Floyd says its not about the money its about legacy. Then he says the titles dont matter. Then he says hes a 5 division champ blah blah blah. He contradicts himself.

                  yes, I agree.

People can hate on fighters out of jealousy...People say they want to see "Greatness", they want to see someone that can't be beaten, but the truth is, most are scared, feel insecure, or just want to see the fighter lose at least once to feel better about themselves because when a fighter loses, it makes him human too.

I also wrote something before dealing with, when a fan loves a boxer, gets all hyped up on a boxer, but the boxer lets him down by wasting his talent, then loses, they turn around and start to hate on the fighter (as a defense mechanism), in order to handle the let down.

Pep was 230-11-1 and beat many, many champions and hall of famers. Mayweather is only 37-0 and his quality of opposition does not stack up very well. I'm sorry but Mayweather has many fights to go before he can be considered in the same breath as Pep. I don't give a **** if fighters fight less often today, that doesn't mean you can discredit Pep but putting him in the same category as Mayweather who lives in a pampered world where you don't need to fight as often. Aw it isn't Mayweathers fault he'll never have 200 wins? Too ****ing bad. It's not Pep's fault either so don't try to bring him down to Mayweather's level just because the guy lives in an era where boxing is a weak fringe sport.
