At the rate Klitshko is going (fighting on average about every 6 months), a fight with Sanders would slow the unification process down if not end it. IMO, right now this fight is too high risk with little return. I'm for Klitschko unifying the IBF-WBC titles now, then fighting the winner of Toney-Peter.

That wasn't the point I was making.

        Also:
Byrd wanted to fight Lewis, but didn't get the fight.
Lewis fought Evander when he was old and shot. I don't hold this totaly against him since Evander for years was mixing it up with Bowe and Moorer.
Lewis also fought a shot Tyson.
Fought Ruddock after two destructive fights with Tyson.
        Fought Bruno, after Tyson.
Lost to Tyson's sparring partner, Oliver McCall...which he did beat in the rematch after pulling him out of rehab for being a crack-head.
Retired after Vitali gave him all he could handle...to be fair, Lewis had been on the decline, was mentally not as strong after he beat Tyson since that is all that was left from his era, and he did stop Vitali on a cut.

And Yes, before you try to make a comeback statement, Yes, the same can be said about Tyson with fighting older and shot fighters. LOL

Top marks for spin, i'll give you that. lol

Bruno still won a world title after his Lewis loss. Holyfield, athough passed his best, was by no means shot.

          Holyfield
          Ruddock
          Morrison
          Rahman
          Golota
          Mercer
          Tucker
          Bruno
          McCall
          Weaver
          Tua
          Tyson
          Klitschko

The guy beat everyone put in from of him. Bowe wouldn't fight him. Lewis has to go down in history at at least top 15. Too many people on these boards trying to discredit this guy, while at the same time talking like Klitschko is the second coming of christ, when in reality, he's done nothing.

yes, I mentioned before in another thread that Bowe was the one real fighter that could challenge Lewis, who was in his prime, but ducked Lewis, so Lewis gets the credit for that.

The rest, I have counter-points, but so tired of arguing this point at the moment since once we get started with Lewis, we will get into Tyson, then the rest of the Champions that fought fighters past their best, and who they lost to, the reasons why they lost, etc.

wlad's fought some pretty decent fighters recently in brock, bird, and peter.

yeah, they may not be world beaters at this stage in their respective careers, but i would not fault the guy for indulging himself in an ego-stroking destruction of a shot sanders before making a 3 or 4 fight run on unification.

say he fights sanders in the next 5 months and then shoots for the easiest of the alphabet holders before the end of 2007. After that he goes after the next easiest alphabelt, and maybe a rematch with brewster before capturing the last belt- assuming none of the other belts are unified before then.

at 6 months a fight, 5 fights is still only 2.5 years and wlad should have at least 3 or 4 left in him.

Assuming Wlad beats Sanders, NOW. He is 40, inactive and probably even less conditioned. That wouldnt do much for Wlad. What I can't figure out is how easily Sanders was able to land such big bombs on him.

u are one of the only few who thinks so right now, I am not against seeing this fight happening but not now, I wanna see unification if it will be possible. Sanders need to work his way back up it doesnt make sense fighting a bum who was retired for 3 years and just all of a sudden says Im running outta monay let me get in to the ring and call out Klitschko maybe he will fight me. It doesnt work like that. I know Lennox Lewis avenged all his losses but they were all cause he had to cause thats who was at the top at the time, Mcaall took histittle so he beat Mcaall in a rematch,Rahman knocked him out and took his titles so he got a rematch and beat Rahman to become champ again, it doesnt makes sense for Wlad to fight Sanders right now, he doesnt have a title, hes not even ranked, its just ******....

just an intersting fact for everyone.....

the guy sanders is fighting in his comeback, colin wilson, has lost 4 times each to both bob mirovic and kalli meehan

he also weighed in at 176 pounds for a fight early in his career, and has since weighed in as high as 265 pounds... he is 6'5....
