Hunter who beat Bakole accepted less money to fight someone else rather than face Hrgovic. Bakole is a decent fighter mind you, but he's also a fat meatball who does not punch hard enough to finish Yoka.
There comes a point where you have to consider why many fighters who have nothing better lined up are pulling out fights with Hrgovic. He has been ducked / turned down by Parker, Ruiz, Hunter jr to name three. Maybe next will be Wilder.
Hrgovic will face someone for the IBF belt. We should be for the best possible fight. I provided the IBF rankings. Which match do you see him in next?Last edited by Dr. Z; 02-25-2023, 07:04 AM.

He is old and was KO twice by Fury who isn't a big puncher and does not this as hard as Hrgovic.

Fighters don't care what you think.

Hrgovic is a nobody and Ruiz, Wilder, Joshua, Usyk...would never give him a lion`s share. Nothing strange about that.
Hrgovic will probably fight Bakole and lose. Saying "he wasn`t himself in Zhang fight" are just silly excuses.

Some of you guys have been posting for years but still don't understand how purse splits work. AJ doesn't have to take 20% less than Hrgovic, if he wants that fight they will just negotiate a deal. Surely you guys know that happens in boxing all the time? Purse bids being cancelled because promoters/fighters have reached a separate agreement is common.
Look, if Hrgovic/Ruiz went to purse bid, Hrgovic would get 60%. However, there is nothing to stop Ruiz from offering him a deal before that. If Ruiz says 'I'll pay you $500K to fight me in the US on a PBC card", PBC don't have to prove that Ruiz is getting less money. Ruiz could've made any offer, but he didn't want that work.
Ruiz is a guy who had nothing to lose when he got the first AJ fight. But then he tries to back out of the rematch, then he's supposed to fight Luis Ortiz but keeps delaying, then he finally has to take the Ortiz fight BUT he tries to get out of it again by signing a contract to face a lesser opponent and it takes the threat of legal action for him to do the right thing. Then supposed to fight Wilder but that doesn't happen, now Hrgovic but he doesn't want that either. But people want to act like the guy is fearless and it's just the purse bid spoiling everything?
Ruiz is a cherry picker who does not have the motivation or character for the sport.Dr. Z likes this.

Bakole is a test ,but he is also not a puncher, and a limited boxer with as far as I can tell no amateur experience in major tournaments recorded. Such a man is not likely to win vs a prime in shape man with good of amateur experience, good gym experience with name guys, and a top ten man in ring magazine ratings who is also undefeated. That the way the game work. Rooting interests do not factor is,.
Hrgovic beat Zhang. All three judges said so. No excuses are needed. Zhang who win Silver in the Olympics was undefeated at the time. Fighters are ducking Hrgovic and he's is clearly not a nobody. More like Wider is has been and over rated by his fans and is also old, and Ruiz is a fat meatball who has made a care over one won vs Joshua, who beat him the next fight, and owns a loss to Parker. Oh yeah Ruiz beat several men that were OLD 38-40+ too. Wilder also beat WHO? A bunch of OLD men are his best wins.
I'd rather Hrgovic fight Ruiz who declined a tile match or Wilder because they are more famous. But the undefeated and in his prime Bakole might actually be the together match now.Last edited by Dr. Z; 02-26-2023, 06:55 AM.

.
Just nobody really cares to fight Hrgovic for some interim IBF title. Maybe even Bakole choses to fight somebody else, he is under Boxxer contract.
