My best memory of Leon is when he beat Cuban hard-hitter Soria in the ’76 Olympics, a fight we didn’t think he could win.
It was the highlight of a terrific fight card in front of the telly.
In those days, when amateur boxing could be rather brutal, and intriguing to watch.
