IMO that 9-0 Ali from 1963 cuts Spinks to ribbons; Spinks never lands a clean shot.

You found what at first blush looks to be a statistical paradox, but it is not. The way it played out makes perfect sense, at least to me anyway.
    - -Would never argue the facts of how their duology played out, however 9-0 Ali took 7 rounds to dispose of Willie Besmanoff. 20 yr old 10-0 Ali dropped hard by 21 yr old Sonny Banks, so those two not in the same class of 7-0-1 Leon who of course subsequent suffered a COLLOSAL collapse into drugs and alcohol back slapping grifters after that epic win.

I'm suggesting you gonna have to apply yourself to find the first version of young Clay capable of beating 7-0-1 Leon who was still a clean and well trained Marine at that point. Boxrec timeline is your friend here...

Ali vast experience and reputation that toofless Leon impugned mightily, so how would Leon do vs 8-0, age 19 Clay when he went the 10 rd distance wif Alonzo Johnson?

Ali was 192 lb, in the range of Leon's fight weight, had one of the best trainers in his corner with more intense devoted time to boxing than the Marine veteran Leon who had other duties to fulfill as part of his Marine hitch.

Could Ali keep the swarming nonstop Leon off him, something he was unable to do in bof their title bouts?

      Hmmm...
Doing what you do best, taking a shiat on things... Great thread idiot.

        - -It's ok to be timeline illiterate. Most are, but in the career timeline, there becomes a point in time when Ali has the experience and sophistication to beat 7-0-1 Leon.

Now, what about them Kerouac and Ginsburg duties U be neglecting?

Your talking a triffling point, like saying Ray Robinson's first fight as a professional would he beat Salidad at his best... Really? Whats the point? Ali became one of the greatest fighters... and yeah when he was learning the craft he wasn't great yet... and?

                - -And who be Salidad at his best or worst?

I'm comparing the timelines of Leon and Ali who came up similar as touted gold medalist LHs not so many years apart. Like I say, it's ok for U being timeline illiterate as most are..

Whats the point of the comparison? What makes it interesting? Important? Many Olympic boxers were touted as great and turned out to be nothing... Tate, Bobbick. So we should compare them to who? What did Leon Spinks accomplish that makes this important? You always want to shiat on others... Look in the mirror lol.

                      - -Git thee minders Ginsberg and Kerouac to point U dunce cap in two American heavies and Gold Medalists a decade apart fought and won titles to ultimately fight each other.

Currently 1-1 vs each other. I asked where on the timeline does Ali show enough class to beat novice fighter Leon who pummeled shot Ali.
