It'd have to be some who is that type guy beating a #1 P4P guy at his peak or near peak. I'm sure there are a few examples, but none come to mind off the top of my head.

Max over Louis is the greatest win for me. Given Louis reputation leading up to it and what he accomplished after.

Frazier over Ali for how big the fight was is a solid runner up.

Greb over Tunney should or could place given the all time status of each man and the fact Greb moved up in weight to do it.

I think Marciano-Walcott because the second when Marciano and Joe are in motion, both trying to put the other down, Marciano shows what boxing really is.

I don't know of a more perfect fight, imo.

Rocky gets dropped by the Sucka and then Joe continues to set traps and really embarrass Marciano around the ring. The end of the fight is coming in fast, Marciano's been patient, waiting, baiting an opening, trying to see that Sucka punch again. Joe mixes the shoulders, back up to bring him in and BAM, Marciano done cut him off with the Suzie. Ring placement? check. Timing? Check. Power? Double check. Accuracy? check. Punch structure? Gorgeous. Feet? check. Bait? check. Best sequence I know of.



Outside of boxing-boxing I am still quite taken with NP Dempsey-J Reagen. Johnny kicks Dempsey with his cleat and causes a 4 inch cut on his calf. Their barge sinks and they have to swim to shore where they fight more. Dempsey's bleeding the whole time. Coppers come so they leave the shore for the mountains while being chased. Top the moutain it begans to snow, Dempsey is still bleeding, ends it in something like a 80 round KO. Good ass story bud.

lou ambers - henry armstrong
armstrong was recently 3 weight champion simultaneously. ambers was a legend himself and lost his title to henry. armstrong is p4p number 1 after defeating possible number 1 in barney ross and then ambers. armstrong was in the middle of his record breaking welterweight reign (absolute peak). ambers was 26 and in his prime too. so 2 legends in their prime fought and p4p number 1 lost. this fight has to be considered to say the least.

Dude, great picks. I'll try and bold my favorite of those. I'll also throw in Douglas-Tyson. At the time, I was shocked, but looking back now and seeing the news stories about Tyson going on Zoloft, which I also take, getting into a car accident and training less/living more of the good life, the writing was on the wall. Couple that with a determined Douglas, who felt no pressure after no longer training with his overbearing dad and wanting to win for his recently deceased mom and the stars just seemed to be all aligned for a great upset.

That's true, but I just feel like for the greatest wins in boxing, both fighters had to be all time greats.

For instance, I would choose Holyfield-Tyson 1 as a good pick. Tyson fanboys will tell you Tyson was just a bum at this point and ignore Holyfield's decline in order to discredit that monumental win though.
