We're now entirely used to see stuff like Floyd vs Conor, fights between YouTubers, etc.

However, at that time, the necessity of mixing different levels of fighter to make big money was not that strong, especially when you could combine the likes of Tyson, Holyfield and Lewis in various ways.

One can argue about Butterbean's evident catch on the general public, his punching power, etc. But the fact is that NO ONE ever took him seriously as a top-level boxer. That's just cold reality. Damn, man, not only did he lose to an ancient Holmes, he was knocked out by 1-6-1 Mitchell fùcking Rose while he was on the verge of B-level stardom.

Plus, all 3 men fought guys who were at bare minimum in Beans league when it came to punching power.

If you put Frank Bruno up against the cans that Bean beat, especially with Bruno's physique, Bruno would look like a god come down from Mount Olympus.
