Yep, just don't say "The F word" around a wrestler or they'll take a swing at you. They take their business seriously. Remember how David Schultz reacted in 1984 on a 20/20 report when John Stossel said he thought wrestling was fake. Stossel got smacked upside the head and had ringing in his ears for weeks afterwards, leading to a lawsuit with Titan Sports and a nice settlement. Leon White, who played a wrestler named Big Van Vader and later just Vader had a similar reaction on a talk show in the middle east when a TV host asked him if wrestling was fake years later when he was on with Mark "The Undertaker" Callaway. White had to spend a few days in a jail cell for assault before he could make it back home. There's even a scene that talks about it in the new Young Rock TV series on NBC where Andre The Giant lifts up a young Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and then asking if that's fake and when the scared kid shakes his head, the Andre character says to never say the F word and when the kid says he understands, Andre says "good, now we hug" lol, then he puts him down.

According to the Dark Side of the Ring documentary series, Bart Gunn new it was serious, but he was just inexperienced going up against someone with years of experience, even if it was against a guy who fought mostly the pro minimum of 4 rounds, except against Larry Holmes in a 10 rounder and other times. It seemed like Gunn tried to stay away early to see if he could make it into the later rounds instead of going right at Butterbean, like he did with his other opponents because of Bean's punching power, but he got caught right away in the first round and never recovered. Once the tournament was over, Gunn should've been back wrestling scripted matches again, not in a ring with a trained boxer, that was ridiculous. I don't know what the hell Vince McMahon was thinking.

Well that was a tournament wasn’t it ? I don’t think he just randomly picked a wrestler, the wrestlers would have to have wanted to go into the event . I’m assuming there was a cash prize ,oh yea I think it was called Brawl for it All ?

Thats a great story... Sounds a lot like Andre lol. Andre was an interesting presence. People often seemed to be driven to test him. Then you wonder why... He was not violent in the same way some guys have hit reporters ("so you think it is fake now?"). There is a story about a bunch of guys in Montreal... a bar, it was snowing hard and they were being obnoxious to Andre. Eventually they piss him off and run out of the bar and into a Volkswagen beetle. The car won't leave because of the snow, Andre lifts the thing up and dumps it on its side with the idiots inside lol.

I can see Canelo going the route of non-boxer opponents going forward. He isn't interested in fighting at 160 or 175 again, and the talent pool is shallow at 168 to make five more years of lucrative fights. Look for him to match up against some MMA guys, athletes from other sports, social media or Hollywood celebs, etc. If Jake Paul wins another fight I can see him in the running.

Yep Brawl For All, one of the dumbest ideas in the wrestling business because they didn't commit to the fights being either boxing or MMA plus a lot of the wrestlers were out for months with injuries, screwing up a lot of potential storylines. All because a wrestler named Bradshaw thought he was the toughest guy in the locker room.

What's with the Hugh Beaumont glowing eyes avatar dude? What did Ward Cleaver ever do to you?

Interesting speculation. I hadn't thought of that one at all.

I am sure Sully will adapt to whatever Canelo does.

It is going to be hilarious when boxing promoters have to be careful to schedule championship PPV fights so they do not collide with big events under the Freak tents. Exactly what boxing deserves.

Canelo may try a fluke shot for a heavyweight championship, especially if someone like fat boy Ruiz ends up with a version again. If successful, then carrot top might fish backward for a weak cruiserweight title, whose weight limit he probably never exceeded to win a heavyweight title anyway. That would probably be one ideal career trajectory. I am sure Sully can adapt.
