What are your thoughts on Tyson-Jones?

Interesting article about fighter coming out of retirement or long layoffs. What do you expect from Tyson-Jones tomorrow night, and what were to happen if both look very good in their respective comeback exhibition?

    I like exhibitions myself

Some of the best reads in history are exhibitions. It really doesn't matter to me if it's used to skirt rules or used to put on a pre-arranged show. Both end up being a nice display of skills quite often.

That said, I hope to see good pantomime between the two. Hopefully no one gets hurt and both Jones and Tyson prove they're still forces to be reckon'd with. Should be fun.

I expect Tyson to come out aggressive. He has to get on the inside, get Roy on the ropes. He probably has about three maybe four rounds in him since they are two minute rounds. I expect Roy to jab, move and circle, counter punch. If he makes it past three rounds he will "win" the fight, even though there are no judges or knockouts. I really hope the outcome wasn't already decided in some back room behind the scenes rehearsal.

This pretty accurately sums up my own thoughts.

You just can't help yourself from trolling, can you? Do I need to put you in the corner again until you learn to behave?

Tyson brought in old Cus D'Amato protégé Billy White to be one of his assistant trainers.

He looks tremendous on the pads as a result. The springs and twists are back in his footwork, and the head movement has returned.

If they let them fight for real he will knock Roy Jones out. Roy is looking fast in his training videos but he is not a true heavyweight. His punches won't faze Mike while any of Mike's punches pose a threat to end things with one shot. Especially since Roy's punch resistance has looked terrible in recent years.

I recently started training again after 13 years away from any kind of combat sport. I can say from my experience that it hurts a lot more now getting hit than it use to. And while I think Tyson will take Roy out early if it's all out, I'll play devil's advocate and say speed kills and could catch up to Mike in later rounds.

                  - -Tyson quit resistance at an all time low vs Kevin McBride 15 yrs ago.
