Other than using a shoulder roll defense Mayweather and Toney are nothing alike as fighters so what is the point of that comparison?

Canelo isn’t a concussive puncher at 160, no. Your point is what?

The fact of the matter is Toney didn’t beat anyone on Canelo’s level with ease. He just didn’t. He in fact struggled and a few times lost to fighters who weren’t even close to his level.

He’s not “pulverising” Canelo. There’s no evidence what so ever to suggest that.
Nunn, Reggie Johnson and Mike McCallum were all better fighters than anyone Canelo has beaten.

Canelo’s movement is going to trouble Toney. No doubt about it.

I’d imagine it would be a SD type of fight though.
      - -Two ton with his bully act makes this a good fight as Canelo lays a methodical beating on him.

Skoolboz need to drop Two Ton several notches as he is easily outboxed .

Canelo ring wt at 154 was 170s and prob 180s above 168 division. In 6oz gloves, trust me, most fighters will think twice before engaging, and skoolboz need to drop drinking their stamina koolaide.

Finishes every fight stronger than his opponent. When Floyd/Ali back to the ropes they smart. When Canelo does it, oh he tired, and we know the reason for those stereotypes. Canelo would never deign to ropadope a Jimmy Young.

McCallum might even be better than Toney

but I agree, Toney def fought and beat way tf better fighters than Canelo. Nunn would for sure school Canelo

whats with you referring to 6 oz gloves constantly? 6 oz is the 1920s and below. It's dempseys era and below, not Joe Louis era, not rocky's era. They used 8 oz all the way through ww2 until the early 80 to mid 80s.

            Ok. And?

He arguably lost to Johnson and McCallum x2 and was being beaten easily by Nunn before he stopped him.

Regardless to that anyway, he still didn’t beat anyone on Canelo’s level with ease.

Your argument makes no sense. So Canelo arguably lost to GGG twice...and GGG is not the fighter that Johnson or McCallum were, or Nunn for that matter. Toney has clearly beaten the better opposition. Toney did not arguably lose to Johnson or McCallum either. No one else is saying he got gifts.

If Toney could handle the power of CW and HWs, he can handle Canelo's power. Canelo is not a speed demon. I don't see where he holds any advantages.

I would consider Dan Hammy the resident expert on Toney.

Toney didn’t arguably lose to Johnson or McCallum? Are you for real??????

You could easily argue he lost the first two McCallum fights and Johnson. Easily.

Canelo did arguably lose to GGG twice yes, difference is I’m not saying Canelo beats Toney easily am I? I’ve not made that argument.

What part of the argument doesn’t make sense to you? So I can make it easier for you to understand.

Toney didn’t beat anyone on Canelo’s level easily. Key word - “easily”. What part of that don’t you get?

I have no doubt Toney is more than capable of beating Canelo. I also know Canelo has more than enough skills, tools and a style that could trouble Toney.

                    - -It's ok to be IQ challenged, we understand.

Match references of OP go back to Sam Langford who doubtless fought in a few 4-5s in his day.

Louis started around the time Jack had his American exhibition tour and had contemplated a comeback. Joe was in 6 oz until post ww2 when boxing made some moves to modernize the game.

Perhaps if U was less prolific and more studied U could improve U game on here.

Ali used 6 oz gloves in Germany against Mildenberger. So I suppose sometimes, some places fighters used lighter gloves.
