I chose to rewatch the fight again and get reacclimated with it.

From what I saw, Wlad was loading up on everything and teeing off on Brewster. But you could see as early as the second round he was starting to get tired, and the HBO announcers were commenting on it as well. By the middle of the fifth he was exhausted and Brewster caught and hurt him bad and Wlad was unable to recover and the fight was waived off.

After the fight Wlad went to the hospital and his blood sugar was nearly twice the norm. No steroids were detected, but I've long suspected him of using steroids. My own opinion of course, with no proof.

Wlad later had an independent doctor check his blood and urine. Again, nothing fishy but the doctor suggested he could have been poisoned, but there was no evidence. Wlad had the test transferred to another facility and the samples got lost.

In my opinion, Wlad gassed. He than got hurt and couldn't recover. His chin was always suspect, and his powers of recovery were as well. I think those things have been well documented.

The possibility he could have been poisoned is there, but I just don't see it. Wlad was a great fighter after his losses to Sanders and Brewster because he learned how to pace himself better and hold more.

What do you think? Was this fight fixed?

It's hard to say if the fight was fixed. Two things stick out in my mind.

1 ) How did Brewster get up from that big right hand?

2 ) Why did Wlad gas and look visibly ill?

Wald's blood sugar, which was almost twice the normal level to me indicates foul play. He's never had that issue before. It's hard to prove the fight was altered, but the evidence suggests it was.

A re-match was needed. Wlad won it easily.

Right. If Steward or any compete trainer was in his corner that night, Wlad wins on points.

You're not likely to KO Purity late. Relax, clinch a bit if needed.

Brewster for his part is a dangerous fighter He's got a lot of power and top chin.

I think early career, Wlad used to panic under pressure, then his tank would just empty. He learned and became more composed. Take David Price (nowhere near Wlad's level I know) We've all seen him gas under pressure as early as round 2/3, but vs lesser opposition, Dave Allen for example (who was actually favored to beat Price) he boxed through ten rounds, no problems, because he was not put in a position of panic, that's when his gas tank just empties.

Steward brought composure to Wlad's game above everything else. If you look at most of the best boxers, they generally have amazing composure and that often comes with powers of recovery. Mayweather, Ward, Fury, Canelo, etc, all full of composure.

From what I remember I thought it was ruled Klitschko had a form of hypoglycemia ?
There has been plenty of speculation but no proof of any wrong doing. There is ample proof Wlad was concussed and ran out of gas. It's not like this was the first time Wlad looked like this. Personally I think he learned from it and had a style developed by Steward to make sure it wouldn't happen again. And it didn't.

Brewster was never in Wlads league. He caught lightning in a bottle that night. The second fight he was recovering from a detached retina, but still wasn't going to win. Wlad is a smart guy, he leaned from his mistakes.

I agree he learned from his mistakes. However, the choice for an opponent was a poor one for him. Brewster had the right ingredients ( Top chin and power with an aggressive style ) to pull off the upset.

Like you said he learned, won the re-match, and the top gun in the division for 10 years.
