There is nothing silly about the difference between a fighter and an athlete. Every activity has its own unique challenges, only oafs like you try to say one exceeds the other. Here is why your comment is so thoughtless (literally).

Without a doubt a Rock climber who is at the top of the ranks is the most physically developed athlete. They are so strong, so fit that they can support their body weight on a finger... The proportionate strength is off the charts. The mental discipline? Well many of them die trying to exceed the max attainable by a few more points... these guys are tough, strong and unprecedented.

Yet how would that make them excel in boxing idiot? Its a different mindset entirely. I did a rare form of Yoga and I once trained a really high level Sikh practicioner. he could control things with his body and mind that were incredible... he told me that he envied me because he was terrified of fighting someone, like I was doing a lot of back then. It had nothing to do with me... He was just not into violently engaging another individual in a controlled environment, it terrified him.

And for years in football they tried to recruit sprinters for Wide receiver positions... Seldom ever could one of these guys hold a football, much less when hit.

Team sports require a different mindset entirely and maybe you should tape that to your forehead before you go away on your next vacation which will mercifully be real soon. What an idiot you are!
    - -Rock headed climbers falling as all rocks do because they're rocks, is it?

Tom Landry turned the fastest man in the world Bob Hayes into one of the best ever receivers.

One of many all pro athletic conversions he made like Cornell Green the collegiate basketball player.

Of course Landry was an original thinker, not the mass of spaghetti squash U are.

This conversion seldom works... once in a while demented one... Landry was a G no argument there. I bet Wilt the stilt could have been the best receiver... right s hit for brains? lol.

You claim to have this understanding of fantastic athletes yet disregard rock climbers? they die because they are crazy... But in a way a warrior understands. They just can't stop and yes, a lot of them die because they are trying to go one better. But your truly an ignorant one if you do not see how evolved as athletes they are...

        - -Modern Rock climbers are environmentally destructive using high tech Equipment designed to do nothing more than suposedly defeat Mother Nature who always outlasts their venal, self aggrandizing spirits.

Most of the mounts were considered sacred to Native Americans not to be profaned by atheistic, thrill seeking kiddies.

Darwin's law takes care of most by death or permanent injury where they put emergency personnel in costly, taxpayer endangerment.

Literally, what grade have U regressed to now?

Let's face it, U never had any morals anymore than U Rockclimbing Rockheads plunging from cliffs endangering EMS responders and otherwise destroying the environment.

I can’t imagine the guts it takes to free climb. I remember a woman free climbed this impossible looking cliff years ago. At one point she had to catapult herself from below a huge rock outcrop to it’s front so she could finish the climb. Understand this was death if the move was miscalculated. She made it perfectly but it was so dangerous she had to have some level of a death wish.

Oh but hold the presses! Do you know what environmental impact that woman's finger oils had in those poor rocks, and all the emergency vehicles that would have to be called if she fell to her death? and all that high tech equipment that woman had hidden in her bra?

I know this cause my friend Queeny told me... I had no idea!

Seriously though. As someone who is not a fighter but has fought a lot as a martial artist, and being told that took guts, I am embarrased next to what these individuals do. It makes one realize that the meaning of life, and self perfection does not have to be living to a grand old age, consuming everything one can, and occasionally rising to small challenges.

I understand why someone would do this. The mastery over oneself gained is similar to what certain monks attain.

I don't think these individuals have a death wish, so much as a need to live a life unfettered by the fear of death. The Samurai had a similar attitude. As a matter of fact, Samurai were prized as converts to Zen Buddhism because of this attitude.

                    • This move she made.... first climbing to that height. Then just with her hands, feet dangling a thousand feet or more straight down AND THEN once she reached the edge swinging/catapulting around the edge to grasp the final rock face! Such guts beyond anything I will ever witness.
