Nothing new has been unearthed. Again the Jeanette story is well known. You can find these details in many bios of Dempsey and I am sure their are references. Yet the poster ignores those details. Why? He only posts details that give credibility to HIS argument. Unfortunately his argument is 100% opposite of the history. Ask yourself why.

I would suggest reading “Jack Dempsey, The Manassa Mauler” all the history is well documented here and it’s considered the best bio ever written regarding Dempsey. By far.

I never claimed there was 1000s of articles proving travesty wrong. The onus on proving travesty wrong is on you. It would of course be interesting to know the primary sources Randy Roberts uses to reach the conclusions you say he reaches. Did he just dismiss Dempsey saying he’d fight anybody and then saying no to Jeanette a few days later or maybe he doesn’t mention it at all or maybe something else?

What I honestly do not understand is that you’re a moderator here and you don’t understand the history? You have never read the Jeanette fiasco was a set up? It’s obvious at face value. The entire history with Wills has been written about for 100 years. Dempsey was exonerated from blame just as long yet this is a revelation for you?

Yeah. I’m not a scholar of Dempsey. I maybe moderating this section, but I’m also here to learn new stuff. I never claimed to know everything about any boxing champion (except a few).
