Could the best HW version of Moore beat the best Schmeling or is it hopeless for Moore?

Not hopeless. Believe moore was crafty and tricky enough too cause problems.

Schmeling was either the worlds hwt champion or a leading contender from 1928 to 1938. It’s been lost in time the sensation he caused when he first began fighting in the states. Record crowds with thousands turned away at the door. Schmeling was a tremendous right hand puncher and a clever boxer. He was the best fighter to hold the championship between Tunney to Louis. Max at his best kos Moore.

If Max were tied down to train tracks and Moore were the conductor of a train speeding that way I would say THEN it wouldn't be crazy to pick Moore.

Never said moore would beat him, just he would be a tricky fight for him.

or just watch footage of the fighters in question, and properly research their careers.

Post WWII Boxing was almost dead. The fact that Moore could become an elite Hw shows just how dismal things had become.

Obviously moore wouldn't beat max. Just saying it wouldn't be a complete 1 round whitewash.
