      - -Most older native Texans know to mind their manners driving into Louisiana with Texas Plates.

When I was driving a big rig across the continental US, I am a very instinctive person for perspective. The three worst places were Floriduh, south of Atlanta in Georgia, and southern Louisiana.

Oddly my spider sense was OK with Mississippi, maybe because it had been flattened and scoured by Hurricane Katrina.

Florida and Georgia definitely! Southern Louisiana is azz backwards but in a good way lol. People are self sufficient and the Cajuns are decent...The Cajun Navy comes out of the Bayous down there.

When we were in Katrina after the damage...you would come to a pass where a tree was down, and you would wait until around 3 vehicles gathered. As if on cue, a few locals would come out with chain saws and beers. Some (who knew how to handle a chain saw) would grab a saw, the others would clear the debre as the road was cleared, everyone would drink, say hello to each other and be on their way.

By the time the government got down to the area, everything was done...and it was done primarily through this process. We cleared downed power lines as well, properly with those big swamp rubber boot things... It was quite an experience to a NYC native!

Oh and mississippi? Bad news! But not as bad as Georgia or Florida... We knew about these two cesspools all the way up in New York City!

          - -I'm talking primarily law enforcement, not people, but speaking of, I was in some dodgy places whose history I could not have known. My load might've been valued in the Hundreds of thousands and shhh happens at times.

One of the drivers sent up for smuggling illegals in his trailer after most died of heat stroke.

I picked up sealed loads of Mexican "lettuce" in Laredo to transport to Floriduh, and found myself within a blink of getting shot down by a highway patrolman at 3am.

Straight out of a horror movie replete with massive, obscuring, rolling fog and an itchy trigger finger.

Lotta smuggling going on in Foriduh if you didn't know.

My bad, You are 100% correct about law enforcement in South Louisiana. Yeah I have had my nightmares... All kidding aside, glad you were ok because you get some real deadbeats that go back a few generations in law enforcement at times in that area.

It is comical... One time some cop said I ran a stop sign and I took it to court, something most people do not do... so the lady ushers me aside, starts negotiating... I insisted on one thing which was met: that they did not put it on my record. I felt like I was in the back alley playing craps, more than being in a court of the law...

Queeny, if you pulled big rigs then you know about Interstate 10. Whiskey Bay ever heard of it? near grand coteau Louisiana? It apparently is/was where the smugglers came in from Florida. You could see ranger stations shot up... That area is where Clinton ******* came up to Arkansas, another azz backwaards depot!
