    Rocky Marciano fights Mike Weaver

Could Weaver put the Rock down and keep him down or does Marciano administer a paint job on Weaver?

Hey, this fight may not be easy for the Rock. Weaver could ****, if he catches Marciano coming in early then he could really have him hurt. But it's keeping him down, and I believe that he d fail to do so. A busted up Marciano stops him in the late round I belive.

Exactly. The original rock puts down this jabroni for the count, early or late.

Nah....I doubt that. I think Rocky may stop him, but not in 1.

I just don't see Marciano taking him out fast, Rocky took a while to warm up, get the old motor running. If anything, it's Marciano in more danger early than Weaver.

Weaver was there to be hit.

Marciano was, too. But at least his hitting came faster and more frequently.

                Quarry would have embarrassed Weaver.

marciano kind of embarrasses himself before putting Weaver away.

Weaver could not accustom fans to his mysterious rounds of lethargy, so they prayed he would be KO'd out of his fluke belt. Now Tyson Fury would be Weaver's worst nightmare. Marciano might wake him up and make him fight. Weaver awake could be dangerous, if you could keep him awake. He could slide into torpor at any time, even from his best moments.

Little Hercules! Alleged to have started boxing after getting into a fight, in the army, and KOIng his opponent, only to learn that the guy was the Heavyweight champ for the Army.

Weaver could hang tough with some of the best. I always felt like he fought to the level of his competition. Both men came to the sport relatively late.

Looks can be very deceptive. Looking at Marciano and Weaver one would never intuit that Rocky was the man who was put together with a complete blueprint, all the necessary polish and WD40 necessary to keep lubricated. Weaver, on the other hand, could never quite fit into a way. He was not quite a puncher boxer, not quite a brawler, certainly not a great puncher...

Marciano never went into the ring not knowing how he was going to win...I want to give credit here to Lefty's analysis of Weaver's Torpor. Two fighters, many similarities... Marciano would not lose to Weaver IMO. It does not even matter how he would beat Weaver. He would do what he needed to do to beat Weaver. for example, he might work inside, he might catch him with gazelle punches outside and not get into it inside. He might wear Weaver down... The point is, he would make the adjustments he needed to make.
