Lomachenko has already shown a ton of skill, talent, temperament and resolve in only 12 fights as a pro. I think it's very early to talk about him next to guys that are top 10, 20 of all-time but the fact it's actually being done tells you what you need to know about Lomachenko. I do believe he has en extra level he will be reaching in the next 2-3 fights.

Very excited about this guy. It's good that this thread is largely full of mature fight fans and not the trolls and children on NSB who think he's a bum who couldn't lace Augie Sanchez' boots.

Pep is arguably the greatest featherweight ever. To me it's insulting to already be rushing to put Lomachenko on the same level, after only 12 fights.

And I say that as a fan of Lomachenko's fighting style. I've commented before that I think he is special.
Get out of the thread, then, sweetheart, if you are that disturbed. No one requested you. No one cried for your presence. About 95% of Pep's opponents must have insulted and disturbed you, if merely speculatively comparing Chenko to Pep does the trick. Pep actually fought those guys. Wipes those tears now.

No. The only reasonable thing to do is to wait for Lomachenko's career to play out before mentioning him in the same breath as Willie Pep. Out of respect for Willie's body of work.

Why should I get out of the thread? Is it not permitted to express an opinion on the thread topic?

Because you are upset. A man of your caliber should not have to listen to fanboy speculation.

No, it is not permitted to express an opinion on the thread topic when you deny the right of the thread to even be here because you consider it illegitimate. You say the thread is illegitimate. I thought that was your opinion. Okay, you have expressed it. I don't know why you would want to express opinion on an illegitimate topic.

Does anyone know why this gentleman is so intent on spreading his opinions in illegitimate topics?

Where did I deny the right of the thread to even be here...or where did I state that it was an illegitimate thread topic?

Can you quote the post where you saw me do this?

Anyone can speculate about any hypothetical bout. Fanboys are the only ones who believe a 11-1 unproven fighter would do anything but lose vs an ATG fighter.

Maybe someone more knowledgeable could say if Pep ever fought anyone like Loma? Certainly Loma has never faced any top level defensive fighters so far, Linares was skilled but a different style to Pep.

It's hard to pick a modern guy against and ATG so would go with Pep but as that's the sensible view, to be devil's advocate I'd say Loma's footwork means he'd cut off the ring, has show impressive control of distance, range, angles and would be in a position to punch accurately more often than most Pep opponent's were. He could swarm Pep with activity, throwing a lot of shots but never sitting down on them or staying still, just fast flashy arm punches, he'd miss a lot but still, Pep would have to land some big counters to win the rounds vs loma's volume, which would be difficult against someone who isn't overcommitting to shots and is constantly moving.

Shoulder Roll tells me the topic is illegitimate. He is ashamed of the topic. He feels the topic shames the very memory of his friend Willie Pep, whose dear ghost should not have to suffer the mythical comparisons of fanboys and their retinues of churls. He tells me a respectable forum would take down this thread born of illegitimacy.
