He would do as well as GGG would at supermiddle. Read between the lines.

Eventually. Probably should've stayed retired after the second Arguello fight. I doubt he loses to a Bobby Joe Young otherwise or at a younger age.

I was an Arguello fan so sure 'I know' it was tainted. - On another note I think Sugar Ray Leonard 'ducked' Pryor; saw a tough fight for not as good money he could get else where. Pryor should have gotten a shot at SRL (at welterweight; I don't understand the climb to super middleweight that is being expressed above.)

          disagree

what drug acts that fast and lets the user be aware of what hes doing

and also prevent his opponent from doing what HE wants to do

maybe it was liquid smelling salts. something to wake him up.

I thought so too, but I remember one or two people here mentioning Pryor being offered a Leonard fight for a good amount of money and turning it down. Or was it that Pryor stayed at 140 so he wouldn't have to fight Leonard at 147. Anyone, anyone?

Could be but it is hard to understand - it would have been far and away his best payday. It could also be that when the fight was right for Pryor (just after the second Arguello fight) Leonard was in one of his retirements. The sweet spot for Pryor would have been the fall of '82 to the summer of '84. Leonard is inactive for most of that period.

Leonard was a very inactive champion/fighter. Between Hearns I and Hagler (which is a 5 1/2 years span) there is only Finch and Howard.

The timing was right for the fight to happen, Leonard was certainly available, but maybe Leonard (at least for the first retirement) actually believed he was done.

The summer of '83 would have been perfect.

I think Pryor would've beaten Ray Leonard with or without Panama Lewis, and I think all of you know it too.
