Agree. He definitely cheated.

Yes it was tainted. Lewis asked for his corner to give him "the other bottle, the one I mixed" while working the corner in that fight. It was later suggested he used an athsma medicine in the water to help get more air in the lungs.

Yes the first fight somewhat. It doesn't seem like Lewis let his fighters know he's helping them though and at least, to his credit, Pryor rematched Arguello to prove that he was the better fighter at that point in both their careers. Now, what about a younger Arguello? How does the fight go then?

I do, ironic but at the time they were two of my favorite fighters when the first bout took place. I do not have a doubt the Pryor did stimulants late in the bout to rejuvenate himself.

Lets forget that ol water bottle and Panama Lewis' reputation for a minute. Late in the fight, Lewis in the corner put a smelling salt bottle up to Pryor's nose and Pryor took a big whiff. Have you ever smelled real smelling salts? You can not take a big whiff like that. Strange that the next round Pryor came out like it was the first round and stopped Arguello. Arguello deserved better and Pryor paid the ultimate price. Too bad!

All I can say is there was that one Arguello overhand right ( cannot remember the round) where the force caused Pryors head to snap way back like I have never seen before and Pryor kept coming forward. Arguello landed those beautiful overhand rights all night which should have finished the job. The hawk either had a great chin,was high on something or a combination of both.
I loved the first fight. One of the greatest fights ever IMO.

No its shouldn’t because while su****ion can be raised about the first fight. The hawk came back with a new trainer and no black bottle and totally destroyed Alexis sooner.

Arguello was shot at that stage and was a former featherweight after all...

How would Pryor have done at middle and super middle??
