That is why i think Frazier had more stamina than Ali.
Have to agree. Frazier had phenomenal stamina, Ali in his prime with the ability to stay on his toes with a solid workrate for 15 rounds isn't too far behind. In terms of stamina Frazier is one of the elite, constantly bobbing and weaving applying tremendous pressure and keeping up a relentless attack. He carried his power late into a fight... the only time ive seen Frazier lacking punching power is in the 14th round of Manila.

In the heavyweights i would say Frazier and Marciano have the best stamina. In the lower weight classes i would have to go with Henry Armstrong who actually had an unusually large heart that allowed him to keep up such a torrid pace.

Ali got smacked straight on the chin. Ali being tired was one of the circumstances that resulted in that punch landing.

You can explain all you want. Your wrong... Ali's handspeed was real, not a mere illusion. In terms of raw handspeed a pre-layoff Ali was quicker than Louis. If anything reach is going to make Ali's punches appear slower as they have to travel further in order to make contact... Joe threw very short, sharp punches which accentuate his handspeed on film. Joe had alot more snap on his punches and a far superior combination of speed/power, however Ali when he was throwing flurries and combinations had the edge in speed. Regardless Patterson, Louis, Tyson are all up there with Ali in terms of handspeed.

          - -Vitali a non stop punching machine because he threw more efficient arm punches that kept him in balance.

He was gassed vs Lewis, but he only had 3 weeks to train.

              Honorable Mention: George Foreman II

Not sure if Foreman gained stamina during the lay-off or just learned to relax in the ring. But George II took several 12 Round beatings without wilting. When he pushed off a tiring Holyfield late in the fight and taunted him to keep fighting, he was redeemed for Zaire.

Foreman 2 is a good shout. Also go with Peter North and John "The Wad" Holmes (no relation to Larry).

Vits was on the Lewis undercard before Lennox opponent got hurt. The "only 3 weeks to train" is entirely untrue. Not only that, But Vitaly himself had been training for a fight with Lewis for the past year by his own admission.

My two cents: I agree, he was preparing physically for an under-card bout and should have been physically ready. The switch to fighting for the HW Championship of the World certainly demands a different mind set (mental preparation) but three weeks is enough time to make that adjustment; to get ready mentally.

                      Rocky Marciano.
                      Joe Frazier.
                      Evander Holyfield.
                      Ken Norton.
                      Larry Holmes.
                      Muhammad Ali.

These are the fighters who have SHOWN great feats of endurance inside of the boxing ring 'Muhammad Ali was a notoriously a lazy trainer at times, still he was able to show great feats of stamina'.
