Good point. I remember thinking that when I used to watch the Yankees. Even when Jason Giambi struggled as a hitter, his on base percentage was still at or close to 500, meaning he got on base about once every two times he went up to bat because of all the walks he drew. And once he learned to hit the ball to the opposite field, since infielders shifted when he came up because he was a pull hitter, his hitting struggles gradually decreased.

His other rematch, Ted Lowry, went the same the second time as well with a 10 round UD and is the only exception there.
I don't see that as a good or valid point at all in this case. Lummox got ktfo against journeymen he shouldn't have lost to in the first place let alone losing in embarrassing fashion.

Overall LL was a very good hw. Probably around 10 all time in the division. Best overall? Lol. No.

I didn't say or mean to imply he was best overall. I actually agree with your ranking of him.

Lennox Lewis's toughness was his most underrated asset...

But unlike past great fighters, Lennox Lewis does not really have a defining fight! or challenge! and this is mainly due to other heavyweights avoiding him during the 90's (But when you analyse his wins, Lennox Lewis fought & beat most of the biggest punchers of the 90's!)...

                whats the criteria

h2h, id pick only holmes to consistently have his number. no amount of rematches would help.
resume wise, its very good. much better than many others. it must pain some to admit this. how high can a supposed ATG be if their resume is shlt ?!?!?

Lewis had that ability only greats have, to win the rematch, Holyfield, McCall, and Rahman
All the heavyweight greats had that, Wlad (Brewster, and Peter) Ali (Frazier, Nortan, Spinks), I was mad that Fury ducked the Wlad rematch, now he decides to come back after Wlad is scheduled to fight Joshua, I have no doubt Wlad would have ripped jim apart had the fight took place July 9
