Moore fought 15 boxers recognized as world champions by BoxRec:
(First 11 on the list are also HOFers)

    Fidel LaBarba (0-1-0)
    Petey Sarron (0-2-0)
    Joe Lynch (4-3-3)
    Jimmy McLarnin (0-0-1)
    Frankie Genaro (0-1-0)
    Bud Taylor (2-0-2)
    Sammy Mandell (0-1-1)
    Eugene Criqui (1-0-0)
    Jimmy Wilde (0-1-0)
    Pete Herman (2-0-0)
    Kid Williams (1-0-0)
    Harry Forbes (1-0-0)
    Johnny McCoy (1-2-1)
    Jack "Kid" Wolfe (2-1-1)
    Johnny Buff (2-0-0)

Ertle was one of several "claimants" at the time, but never really got widespread recognition. Gaylor Lewis was never in the world title picture.

Moore's record used to show a 4 rounds points win against Wilde in 1918. However, this was actually in an amateur tournament, so a couple of years ago this result was therefore scrapped (BoxRec).

McLarnin was born in NI, could be in this discussion and probably #1.

In terms of fighters who I have watched a significant amount of, Ken Buchanan is the best I have seen.

Skill wise anyways. Roberto Duran rated him as the most skilled, best jab, best defence and fastest feet of all the fighters he faced in the 'Best I Faced' interview.

Thats saying a lot considering the fighters Duran fought. Though fighters do tend to give more credit to the fighters they beat.

                  If McLarnin counts, him.

                  If not, Fitzsimmons
