Exactly! Judges are influenced the the sanctioning orgs, the fighters themselves and even the crowd.
    Don't forget the promoters.
Duran could often get his best work missed and was sometimes hard to score. Leonard Duran 1 I think a lot of his work was missed but watching the fight I give him 3 rounds and can see how he could've been given another 2. I'm a far bigger Duran fan than Hagler btw so watched the fight sympathetically for Duran.

Agreed, but this goes against the agenda of this particular person.

      • Oh dear, we now have stooped so low, you are scraping the bottom of the barrel. You are claiming judges, referee's, promoters, boxing publications are all corrupt. roflmao The very sport you and myself both love, you are calling it corrupt. Well then i must ask you, "Why do you bother with it?.. Why do you spend your every waking minute, on boxing forums?.. Why do you even pain yourself to talk about such a sport? that has so much corruption in your eyes?.... This is a first for me on a boxing forum, coming across such a post as this and such blatantly..

I am well aware of the Frankie Palermo era in the 1950s when "small hall" fights were being fixed. But i cannot ever recall "World Heavyweight Championship" fights being called FIX.. What would the champion gain from fixing a fight?.. This really does take the cake, you claiming Hagler vs Duran to be FIXED ?

sanctioning bodies are heavily influenced by the promotors.
The promotors have a vested interest in the results of fights and fighters.
Can you not see potential conflict of interests at times?

This was a result that a close decision was a very helpful business decision.
Hagler is still MW title holder with a great name on his record and Duran has proved what a great fighter he is and can drop back down to LMW his reputation pretty much intact.
Don't get me wrong Duran fought a decent fight and showed a lot of Hagler weaknesses but it wasn't razor thin.
LOL........ Next you will tell me, You overheard Hagler and Duran cheoreographing the fight in the tunnel, before they entered the arena

You agree Duran only won 3rds against Leonard (1) ? I had Duran winning 8-7rds, so once again just like Hagler vs Duran. we are miles apart on how we seen the fights unfold and the scoring.

So basically, what you are saying is Ring Magazine & Boxing News, make up outrageous and vivid descriptions, of fights and fighters so they can sell magazines?... If they don't do such things, then readers won't purchase

I cannot recall laughing so much in one evening as tonight lol

I said Duran won 3 rounds clearly against Hagler not Leonard.
