Foster had the patience of a hunter and would use his long jab to set up the KO, usually with a wicked left hook. He was also a terrific finisher, so if he hurt you, forget about it. His fights above 175 were disappointing, but Foster is someone who might of benefited greatly from modern "supplements".

    RIP to a great champion.
A little off topic but Scott how do you think Foster would have done against Spinks, Saad Muhammad, Jones jr, Hopkins, or Kovalev?

Foster is a tricky one for H2H matchups. He totally dominated his division, but didn't face competition nearly the caliber of the names you listed. It's kind of like Mike Tyson in fantasy fights. You can see him losing to several past greats, but he had the capability to wipe out any opponent in an instant if he caught them right.

I'd pick him over Spinks, MSM, and Hopkins. A Jones fight would be fascinating. And we're still measuring how great Kovalev turns out to be.
