I'm here the bust myths, B.U.S.T. them, not propogate them.
I don't know if I'd be able to beat Jack Dempsey for real but he doesn't LOOK like much to me on film. I am certain there is atleast a couple good bouncers in every club in Adelaide SA that could have wasted him!
Earnie Shavers was so abysmally skilled that he could barely land on any post 1990 HW's. Combined with the actual stats of Shavers, that his KO ratio against the avergae sized opponents 1980's+ was only 50%, this places him in the effective range of Chris Byrd.
I can concede that the power of Shavers would have been more than Byrd with disragard to delivery skills, of course. But as soon as you factor those important elements in, he's busted.
Shavers was a bum-buster and cruiser cruncher mainly, with hardly any wins against any relevant and decent opponents! Basically useless Ali (for which he was robbed) and Chinny Norton.
Ray Robinson? I already clarified, Robinson to have the greatest "numerical" record and to have been great in his era. I made it very clear that he would be considered a bum only if he fought TODAY!
These are facts, they are not my opinions! They are simply where the path of truth leads for those who have the courage and the fortitude to follow it without swaying or being swayed.
