Probably but it would never happen.

I doubt he'd even beat Tyson let alone Lennox (at that time)

If roy fought tyson when williams did, and roy could survive the first round and a half, I think he has a solid chance of beating mike, especially if mike tears his knee ligaments like he did vs williams

Mike would be extremely dangerous the first five minutes, but afterwards I think roy could potshot him to a decision.. But would have been fascinating to watch because no matter how outmaneuvered and outskilled mike was compared to roy, all it would take is one shot from mike to end it.. Much like the Botha fight

I agree and Jones was fully aware of his limitations at Heavyweight which is why he immediately went back down to 175. I recall when Jones father advised him to pull out from a fight with Buster Douglas who was making a comeback at the time.

As for Hamed, yeah he declined but moreso because he lost his hunger, which led to bad training habits and a decline in performance.
Peter certainly did not look the same after that Vlad fight. The problem for guys like hamed and to some extent Jones, is they are relying on athletic talents like reflexes that need decline very little to make a gigantic difference.

yeah and if I was six foot ten and had Lamar Odom's jumpshot I could do ok in the Rutger's league....If Elroy thought logically he would argue differently, if we had captured the *********s at the flying school, we could visit the World Trade Center....

There is not way in all the Buddhist six worlds that Roy Jones would wind up anywhere but on his back, probably in a coma, against Lewis...or Louis for that matter. For starters, Roy's defensive movement was based on guys going for his feints...its one reason Tarver was so succesful...he was so pissed at Roy didn't go for the feints. Roy never really had to angle back, instead moving more or less straight and countering...

If he tried this against Tyson or lewis, or any decent heavyweight for that matter, the heavyweight would take the punch and catch him moving back, corner him and bust him up. Theres a reason why the great Muhammed Ali, with the speed of a middle weight and fleet feet, could still occasionally be gotten to!

Frazier catching Ali? that would happen to Jones and Jones would not be getting up.

Big difference between Jones and Hamed. Jones was past 35. His decline wasn't because he relied on his athletic gifts, it happened cuz he was finished. Skill-wise he was another planet compared to Hamed. Was as he as technically skilled as a Mayweather? No, but he wasn't a Zab Judah either.

Roy had also agreed to and then backed out of a fight with Corey Sanders. Probably a good decision.

He sure did. I forgot about that one. I do remember at the time I thought he was crazy for taking that fight. He was wise to pull out.
