    Here are mine.

1/. Mike Tyson is Overrated and his resume is weak
2/. Sugar Ray Robinson `Ducked` Charley Burley
3/. Larry Holmes had the best jab in Heavyweight history
4/. Floyd Mayweather is the Greatest of All Times
5/. Today's Heavyweights would simply be to BIG for the oldtimers

I dunno how big a myth Mayweather being GOAT is. No one who has any serious business in boxing believes that but your other choices are spot on. In terms of Holmes, care to explain?

    Mine would be:

    1. Ali/Liston fights were fixed
    2. Fighters today would be far better than previous generations because of better nutrition

All the others you seem to have mentioned.

1-The phantom punch. That was actually legit and one of the greatest punches ever imo.
2-Ali laid on the ropes untill Foreman punched himself out.
3-Foreman did not punch with his whole body. Puhlease.
4-Dempsey loading his gloves. This came from Willard who claimed that his team found a piece of metal on the canvas after the fight. Oh it MUST have been from Dempsey and couldn't have been something else lol.
      5-The glove controversy in Clay-Cooper
6-WEpner 'knocking Ali down' or even supposedly giving him a tough fight. No and no.

Hmm a lot of myths surrounding Ali. Happens when you're bigger than life I guess.

I think Liston quit in the second Ali fight. I think the phantom punch did legitimately drop him and he either had enough of Ali at that point and just wanted out, or there were ulterior motives. Either way it was not a knockout punch in my eyes. That's without even going into the fact he shouldn't have been counted out.

        But anyway:

        1. Willie Pep won a round without throwing a punch (untrue)
        2. Ray Robinson being the reason the phrase P4P was coined (untrue, it was Canzoneri)
        3. Jack Johnson being a Top 5 HW. (no)
        4. Jack Dempsey being a Top 5 HW (no)
        5. That Ali was going to quit in the Thrilla' in Manilla (no he wasn't)

          These 2

          3. Muhammad Ali and the 'ripped glove' incident in the Henry Cooper fight, it actually brought him next to no extra time at all.
          4. Marvin Hagler was a brawler
          5. Leonard 'schooling' Duran in the 2nd fight

Holmes lost the "Battle of the jabs" with Carl "Truth" Williams, Michael Spinks (30rds) Witherspoon, Norton....... Holmes looked good jabbing Evangelista, Zanon, Leroy Jones, Scott Frank, Ocasio who never jabbed back or had a jab of their own.. But Greatest Jab in history is way off the mark.

Buster Douglas floored opponents with his Jab
Sonny Liston had a jab like a swan-off telegraph pole.
Muhammad Ali had the fastest and best jab in history
Jack Johnson, Joe Louis, Rid**** Bowe, Frank Bruno, Witherspoon all excellent jabbers

              1. Miguel Cotto is bald...he actually has to shave his bushy eyebrows before every fight.
              Ok seriously

              1. Punch stat numbers mean something. These numbers destroy the sense of context and framing that occurs when one fighter shows superior technique and replaces it with a stat that wouldn't even matter if the fighters came in shape and ready to fight every round.

              2. Boxing has evolved and continues to evolve. We see athletes get better and make certain logical assumptions. But when these assumptions are examined carefully a different tale emerges.

              3. Boxing is the same, who needs those last three rounds anyway? and they killed fighters...there has been no proof that shortening fights did anything for safety's sake except deevolve boxing so that guys can run their way to victory.

              4. This is the dawn of bigger heavyweights... It so happens that Lewis was followed by Klitschko, and this happens to be a case where there were two succesive large men who were champs. This is not even a correlation. There have been other large champs in history. Canero, Jeffries, etc. The size for a succesful heavy weight has not changed. most successful men are still within the norm for what the classic proportions of a heavyweight are.

              5. "so and so is an excellent counter puncher" really? counter punchers are guys who have balls of steel...a punch comes and as it is being delivered a punch is thrown that stops the puncher in their tracks. Most so called counter punchers avoid a blow then when evasive action completes and the punch completes they deliver their blow. This is a sequence of attack defense attack.

1 Duran knocked a horse cold with one punch. (It was a combination).

2 Joe Louis only started using coke once his career was over.

                3 Ho'kins is a top 5 AT middleweight.

4 Jack Johnson was afraid of Sam Langford.

5 Robinson was afraid of Burley

I've usually seen Hopkins ranked top 10 or 15 at most. I think the only time I've heard him mentioned in top 5 was maybe in a post here or by HBO commentators after his 20th defense of the WBC belt.
