Power, speed and a good chin are three things that will take you very far in boxing, and mean you fare very well in h2h match ups. Robinson was blessed with these three attributes on a level not really held by anyone else i can think of in boxing. He could finish fights with one punch, he had blazing speed and his jaw stood up to every puncher he faced.

Theres been fighters since that have matched him for power and speed, Norris and Hearns immediately come to mind, but they didn't have the chin of a Ray Robinson.. Even Ali more than matched him for speed and chin, but not at all for power.

A guy like Shane Mosley is the closest comparison i can immediately think of, he had power, speed and a chin in abundance, but still not the one punch power of robinson i dont think. And thats not to mention the fact Ray was a technically far smoother boxer than a guy like Mosley, with way better jab and footwork.

the closest comparison to ray Robinson is ray Leonard he did not come close to matching Robinson in longevity though.

I'm guessing that English isn't your first language because that doesn't make any sense.

I actually think, it's the other way around... that today's champions are more superior, but not better!

But before Sugar Ray Robinson, we had great fighters like Willie Pep, Henry Armstrong, Harry Grebb who some historians even claimed could have been on a par with Robinson.
Hard to say but it must be something to do with the amount of quality opponents in his time and the fact they fought often with in many cases many fights in a short amount of time. Les Darcy had something like 15 fights in the space of twelve months and quite a few of his opponents were extremely dangerous and talented. Same goes for Robinson yet he lived far longer and therefore he fought as often as Darcy yet over a 20 year span. I don't think it's about scientific diet but HEART and Ray had that in spades, he was also a natural like the other bloke I mentioned here, he was a freak as was Pep.

What on earth does that even mean ???? I think todays fighters are mostly rubbish but there are a handful who are very good as opposed to hundreds that were very good in Ray's time. Even journeymen then were as good as many of today's champions.
