Why do many (not all) people consider Earnie Shavers the hardest puncher of all time

Sized ideally for a heavyweight, Shavers is generally regarded as the hardest puncher ever. F=MA. Galoots have a hard time generating the necessary acceleration to punch harder than the ideally sized man, who is naturally faster anyway and capable of more acceleration.

What's the matter with you, churljack? Everyone realizes you are ignorant, not just about boxing, but in general.

He'd be a top 10 HW puncher today. Powerful, but not like Wilder. There are only two men in the history of the world who Wilder could not KO. Tyson Fury and Stone Cold Steve Austin, the Texas Rattlesnake. Nash out.

OK since you keep brining up the wrestling nonsense I got an opinion.

Sometime back Austin was being groomed for the spotlight; all my students (BTW read as "kids") were going on and on about him. I had a cheater box so I said phuck it let me wtach.

The opponent made the show. Shawn Michaels (I believe) was absolutely a top notch, fantastic, well trained, daring performer that any Hollywood stuntman would stand up and applaud. Great show that night.

Austin was exactually his name - cold (as in no drama) stone ( as in he barely moved).

I couldn't understand it the next day when the kids were all talking about how great this guy was. I said nothing but I realized they bought the story line and didn't actually realize who the professional was. Even all these years later he Austin still gets all the attention. I never hear guys like you mention Michaels. (Hope I got the right guy.)

Has he, Austin, gotten any better over the years?

That night you take the opponent out of the show and Austin was was just stone cold.

Yet I still hear his name over and over.

P.S. Don't want to disappoint so let me do the old guy thing . . . Bruno Sammartino kicks Cold Stone's ass everyday of the weak. The old timers were better at . . . (You know the rest).

Shawn Michaels was awesome. Yes, he is much more athletic, etc, one of the best performers ever. Stone Cold injured his neck badly early in his career and had to change his style to suit, fought like a brawler, but he was also very good technically when needed to be, has a few great technical matches online, but nowhere near the athleticism of Michaels.

But Stone Cold was a beast on the mic, in the ring, and doing his own segments. That's why people love him. Full of charisma, and fights at a fast paced, exciting brawler style. Michaels was unreal in the ring, but tamed in comparison to Steve Austin on the mic. Like it's not just about the storyline, the guy has to have the mic/promo skills, and be able to entertain and hold the crowd, and that is how Austin made his name. Nash out.

OK so you're saying I got lucky that night and by accident got to see one of the best do his thing, which is only going to make Austin look a little worst.

Makes sense. Even the old guys weren't anywhere near as entertaining as Michaels was that night.

OLD GUY STUFF: Bruno use to do this off the ropes thing, bouncing from one rope to the other with an over the top collision center ring, which for its day was cutting edge.

P.S. of course I didn't listen to any of the mic/promo that night so I missed what Autin was best at.

Very Few can come close to Michaels for in ring ability. Well that's where Austin made his character. Incredible mic skills. Just like an actor, he had a role and he pulled it off to perfection. In the ring he was exciting most of the time. Michaels is arguably the best in ring performer there has ever been, so Austin won't look a good performer vs someone of that ilk. In wrestling, just like in boxing, there are different styles and it makes things better overall. Nash out.

Too many boxers that faced shavers said he hit so hard and harder than everyone else. To get that out of a boxers mouth is saying a lot, especially top level boxers. I think someone like Ali would know. especially considering Holyfield and Briggs faced an old fat Foreman and said it was the hardest they had ever been hit, and Ali - who faced a prime George as well is going off and saying Shavers hits harder. Although point should be made Foreman struggled to hit a mucher fitter version of Ali, shavers landed flush for the most part. I don't know how ali even took that blow. fights hard to watch. It's fights like that, that do serious damage.
