I can give him credit for being a top 15 heavyweight, but not a hardest puncher. The right he took Rahman out with was a great punch, and apparently influences opinions. But if we thought that way we would list Benitez as one of the hardest P4P punchers for what he did to Maurice Harris. All top fighters sometimes throw a perfect punch.

Neither Klitscho belongs on a puncher's list, as well. Why? Because like Lewis they seldom acheive body mass into their punches. Usually, rather than stepping forward, these big boys simply lean forward, enabling them because of their height advantage to reach opponents. This lean forward does not aprroximate in force the body mass moving forward with a step, but it keeps them on the outside where these timid giants feel they must remain, or else someone might swat them, which has previously proven disasterous for them.

The rise of the Competent Giant Era has proven something remarkable, but only about the power axiom by way of negativity. Their big proof has been that monster-sized men of good but not great intrinsic talent level, who are in shape, can indeed rule the heavyweight division over opponents of the same talent level and even a little higher, simply by exploiting their height advantage.

In all fairness, you might say this was proved on paper first by the great Manny Steward, who already knew the answer, before he ever had a student worthy of carrying out the task.

Before Isaac Newton, others had speculated that the inverse square law might have something to do with the mysterious force of gravity. But Newton did not just suspect it, he laid down all the laws pertaining to it. Manny was in a similar position. Others had theories about the value of fighting tall, they just had not realized those theories into a coherent system for the modern era, testable through experiment.

The remarkable theorem in its complete form was: Giants with good but not great talent and mobility (likely not good enough to guard Magic Johnson), who are in great condition, can use their size advantage to dominate eras during which no super talent emerges.

In retrospect it does not seem so remarkable. Nothing ever does, given enough distance. The trainers of Jess Willard probably had similar ideas they put into play.

If an actual super talent ever comes along in a super sized body in boxing, they might have to shut the sport down, if the guy happens to have a big killer instinct to go with his size and talent. He would have to toy with opponents and put them out gently to keep the hounds at bay.
your way off with everything you said here...if you think Wlad or Lewis cannot compare with a Tyson like puncher you are wrong.Steward himself said Wlad was the hardest hitting Hw he ever saw or trained.

You can try and put the puzzle pieces anyway you see fit to justify your argument but anyone with at least a middle school education would know you are .......

Jugghead is a one of those genuises that thinks if he says something enough it makes it true....I doubt he even understands the concept of how mass becomes part of punching force.

Stewart only really ever trained two heavyweights Lewis & Wlad, so his comment is really meaningless.

Unless you believe Lewis doesnt hit hard and you are the only one who thinks he doesnt have true HW power.

I have never said Lewis never hit hard. Lewis had a tremendously powerful right hand.. Get your facts right.

My facts are fine, you scoffed at the idea he is considered one of the heaviest hitters not me.Best go edit what you said about Lewis nuthuggers who put him on a top hitter list while your at it.

                      Jughead: examine these two statements

"Lewis is one of the hardest punchers ever."

                      "Lewis hits very hard."

Now school is in session ok? Are these two statements contradictory? Can Lewis be a hard puncher while not being one of the top punching heavyweights?

Good now go run in shame, Sonnyboy is having his way with you...
