  • Wilder vs. Stiverne, Who Do You Got?

I've only seen a little of Stiverne, seems tough and only read about Wilder. So will Wilder finally step up and beat a good opponent tonight or does he fold and get dominated by Stiverne during his first chance at the boxing limelight? I'm kind of hoping Wilder wins, but I don't know how good he really is yet. The heavyweight division could use a knockout artist to bring a little excitement to it IMO. And if he does win, what would his shot be against Wlad? I think Wlad could win a decision with his jab, but could be in trouble if he gets caught.

I thought Wilder was a little tentative at first in his bout against Charlie Z. But when he opened up he had Charlie apologizing quite profusely. He also cut the ring off quite well...even avoiding his second as Charlie tried to make a run for the door.

Bermaine definitely has had enough protein shakes and makes me feel like I can go to the beach again....thank you Bermaine.

Ok seriously. THis fight amounts to this: Can Wilder hit Bermaine? bermaine has no reach but can move a bit. I think if Wilder can hit bermaine it will be interesting.

I'll go with Wilder. But Don King is involved......so nothing is certain!

I'm thinking Stiverne if he can stay upright the first few rounds.

I hope the HW title will be unified next.

I know he punches very hard, but Wilder has always looked like crap to me. His balance is terrible and with those stick legs he won't be able to take a good shot. I'm not that big on Stiverne, but he is miles better than the hobos that Wilder has been fighting so I'll pick him to finish Wilder by the mid rounds.

Wow, Stiverne becomes the first to avoid a Wilder stoppage, but Wilder wins by UD. I hope this means a unification fight with Wlad. Not sure, but doesn't Wlad have the reach advantage here? I think he takes it with his jab to win a decision, as long as his chin doesn't take too hard a shot. Wlad/Wilder, who do you pick? I'd say Wlad.

usually when two punchers meet the fight goes the distance

I still pick Wlad over any heavyweight including Wilder who still needs a fight or two against another top heavyweight.

But Wlad is getting older and he would really have to be careful of Wilder's right hand. It looks lethal. I think Wlad stops him though at this stage. He's a big puncher too. But if it happens it needs to happen soon because time is not on his side.

Yeah really? He's only about a week or two younger than me, turns 39 this year. Since he already has a fight with Bryant Jennings, he should look to make this fight with Wilder at the end of 2015, maybe defend 2 or 3 more times and call it a career, don't you think? I just hope he doesn't get stuck having to fight Shannon Briggs first.
