If we're talking strictly resume the gap has definitely narrowed. And if they fought again I'd pick Ward without thinking twice.
Has Froch really done enough at present compared to Ward to be considered above Ward considering Ward is unquestionably the better fighter of the two? To my way of thinking Ward is a substantial class above Froch and therefore Froch would need to have achieved a hell of a lot more than Ward to be considered greater than him.

Simple explanation is Froch has a better resume. At the moment.
I could almost agree if Ward had beat Froch....Ward outclassed Froch! When considering why Froch has narrowed the resume gap combined with Ward's performance and considering Kessler beating Froch and Ward beating Kessler...Seems like a bit of a stretch to Give Froch credit for being better than Ward. And this is not even condsidering the win over Dawson... A guy who at the time was considered a possible pound for pounder.

The "junior" weight classes are a waste of space! Either make 160 or move to 175!
The 168 class is where light heavies hide! Grow up and pack on 5 pounds and
compete against men your size. "SuperMiddle is a joke!!!

Dawson was dead at 168. That's a meaningless fight.

But I do agree Ward did beat Froch easily. But I still think Froch has a better resume

But I wouldn't argue Ward over Froch. Wouldn't argue at all actually.

I don't have the slightest doubt about which of the two is the superior fighter. My comments were based on their resumes. And since they fought each other it isn't debatable who has been in against the better talent. And three years is a long time already.

Froch gets credit because he has fought a who's who at 168, but ward has fought pretty good competition to, and is clearly a level above froch in terms of boxing skill...

Ward and calzaghe are the 2 best champs
Roy jones was the most talented
Toney was really good but didn't have much of a reign..
Froch is a career 168 guy, and has fought and beaten nearly everyone but ward..

Those are the only 4 guys you can talk about in this discussion..

And if your just using 168 achievements then it's only a 2 fighter discussion, ward and calzaghe.. Those fighters are synonymous with 168

Calzaghe isn't "the best champ" at all.

outside of ward, name another champion at 168 only that has done more.. Don't say froch cause he has never been THE MAN, and is always second place..

Like it or not, calzaghe and ward have been the only clear cut, undisputed champs of the division.. There may be better fighters that won titles there in history but none stayed very long and calzaghe was the clear kingpin... Ward and froch both lucky joe went to 175 cuz he would have beaten both in 07-08..

But like i said earlier, name the guy besides ward that has done more at 168 then calzaghe

Calzaghes resume isn't much better than Ottke's.

Froch wasn't "the man" because Ward's around. Calzaghe wouldn't be "the man" in this era either.

Froch has a better resume, as does Ward.

                      It's between those two.
