Hopkins is the better inside fighter

Mayweather is good inside as displayed in the Hatton fight

Mayweather has fought the #1 ranked Welterweight twice. Pacquaio would be the third were they to fight.

Mayweather has beaten the #1 ranked fighter at the weight being fought in 9 times in his career.

That's unprecedented for the modern era and something that hasn't happened often in general.

ducking a mega fight of this magnitude for over 5 years by the champion is also unprecedented. Can you name me any serious greats from the past that could be called chicken and mocked on tv and STILL not pushed for this fight??? No that's exactly why he doesn't belong with the greats. No doubt hes had a great career but you cant rank him with the Alis and the ray Robinsons because of this. Are you telling me that him not fighting pacquio doesn't change anything???

Well Pacquaio didn't want the fight either for many years. But that's a completely different and long winded topic.

And Floyd with or without Pacquaio isn't near Robinson or Ali's level.

But, he is unquestionably an ATG.

How can anyone rank Mayweather higher? Bernard was undisputed champion and the number one guy at 175lb on 2 or 3 separate occasions. He always sought out and fought the best and almost always won. He was often let down when facing younger, more athletic foes but he always rebounded and that win over a prime Tito is better than anything on Mayweather's resume.

There's no question that Trinidad is the best win between them.

But you could also say Ruben Carter's win over Emile Griffith is better than any win on Hopkins or Floyd's resume combined. But both are vastly greater than Carter.

Either way, it's close. Both had great careers and both did unprecedented things. It's splitting hairs at this point.

I'm not saying Hops over Tito is THE ONLY factor, there's so much light between Hopkins and Floyd it's not even up for debate.

                    Floyd the better fighter....

                    Resumes about the same..

Hopkins has better and bigger wins

Still gotta go with floyd.... Floyd has been p4p longer than hopkins... hopkins didn't get p4p till the MW tourney, floyd had already been p4p for 3 years....
Plus floyd wouldn't lose his debut, draw with mercado, and look to get out of a fight vs allen

                    I rate floyd higher

I didn't say you did. Just higignting why that logic isn't always sound.

                      And clearly it is debatable.
