youre assuming hed have knocked him out. maybe he would have maybe he wouldnt. he didnt have any problems with his knee when the much lighter mbride stopped him. the bottom line is tyson lost becuz his heart and will werent in it anymore. he just didnt care

And he was still dangerous as **** without his heart as evidenced by KO1 Ettiene, winning nearly every round against Williams with a bad knee, and being UP on the cards against McBride who did not stop Tyson, he retired!

The point being, Tyson was ALWAYS among the most dangerous boxers in the division. MAny other world champs were, even right at the end, SCARED to face him!

Not fixed , but seldon was looking for a way out,, he was scared in there, and he gets paid the same he last 2 mins or 12 rds.. Seldon took his paycheck and got out ASAP..


I do think the Tyson-Clifford eitteinne fight was fixed.. Clifford totally takes a dive, pretends to be out cold from a grazing shot, and as he is "out cold" he calmly reaches in and takes out his mouthpiece... A total dive

Tyson needed more than Ettiene to rebuild his embattled career AND he needed his pennies too. Tyson's draw wasn't nearly what it once was either.

On the other hand, Clifford was seen as a rising top contender. A win over Tyson would have propelled him into a title shot. I can't see any way Clifford or his team would agree for him to take a dive!

Also this was a free preview weekend for showtime so the audience was much bigger than usual for showtime and they needed mike to look good... Cliff I believe was a former sparring partner, and in my eyes took a dive to make mike look good..

Someone should upload the fight and judge for themselves... IMO it was a blatant dive

I guess TYSON'S dangerousness in his late career would take a blow if it were a dive.

I continue to believe Clifford was simply beaten by a very aggressive and powerful Tyson. But you do cast some doubt now don't you.

Ettienne was considered a contender though, however doubtful. Not the sort of opponent one would expect Tyson to run through at that time.

Ettiene laid down like a dog. It was plain to see. Well maybe not for Elroy. He was impressed that Tyson was winning a fight that didn't go 4 rounds and that he was actually ahead of Kevin ****ing McBride before he gassed out and quit.

You could say the same about many fights couldn't you but simply being overwhelmed by a very dangerous opponent is too much to swallow?

Perhaps Clifford was already hurt!

And the point of the McBride fight was NOT that Tyson had lost his passion.. But that he was still a good boxer, and he was still ****ing DANGEROUS!

McBride might have been average and chubby but he still outsized Tyson like a schoolboy and wasn't the bummiest boxer Tyson ever faced.

Overwhelmed doesn't excuse laying down. It was a total non effort and its not like he only got $10,000 for it.

McBride was awful, and clearly the worst opponent for Mike since the mid 1980's. But he was big, so no surprise that you overrate him.
