It's partly history related, as after watching maidana fight, I can't see mayweather having any chance against the likes of Chavez, Duran, Leonard, prime pacquiao. I've always thought constant pressure and beating mayweathers 1 punch work rate while also jump in and out with a decent jab, so he's never able to stand and get himself comfortable and feel dominant is the way to beat him. Most importantly is work rate, as mayweathers his best defence against this is to throw lots of punches and combinations but it's not his style. Of course mayweather is late 30s but visually u can tell he's actually smarter and still as fit. Because of this I put him way below jones in terms of being the best and I think there will be many questions after this fight on how good he really is........or am I being to harsh on an aging great??

Dint score it at the time but at the end of the fight I was expecting a close score card and wasn't surprised at a draw and I thought maidana had sealed a clear 5 rounds at least. So anything below 113 for Marcos was well off.Last edited by likeamulekick; 05-04-2014, 04:20 PM.

Floyd's 37, in his 18th year as a pro, 17th year at the Championship level and well passed his best.
So it's difficult to base anything off of last night performance on how he'd do prime for prime vs other greats.

I had Maidana winning four of the first six rounds, but activity level dropped in the 2nd half and Floyd took five of the last 6 to pull out a clear win...
Maidana had a great game plan, but the body shots and jab to the body early by Floyd really paid dividends in the late rounds
It's obvious now that Floyd is on the downhill slide and fights between him and khan, Thurman, porter just became a lot more interesting...

Its all speculation though. Khans very beatable once you find his chin and while Floyd has clearly slipped he still has the speed and pop to hurt you, and most definitely the ability to set it up and walk you onto his shots.

He's got the length and height of DLH, faster hands, faster feet, a good enough jab, he doesnt have the punch but I envision him fighting Floyd in a somewhat similar way to the way oscar did, but with more emphasis on angles and footwork instead of always jabbing in and staying there like Oscar tried to do..

As for porter and Thurman..
I think porter is ready right now,, his style is high activity and pressure and I think he could be a nightmare for Floyd..
Thurman I think could fall into the same trap that ghost and canelo did, and get outfoxed in the middle of the ring.. He isn't a high pressure fighter and fights at a much more relaxed pace..
Would love to see fights with khan and porter before a Maidana rematch...

I thought Mayweather, Khan and Bronner were in a no win situation. They all were fighting guys selected that they should have no problem beating. If they won, well they did what they were supposed to do. Goldenboy seems to like ppv's of showcases more than competitive fights. Collozo is known as a light puncher and admits himself that he is not a puncher.
Perfect opponent to secure Khan's future payday. Don' let the destruction of underachiever Ortiz fool you, Collazo was dropped and beat by Freddy Hernandez in his previous big fight, the same Hernandez that was just stopped by Andre Berto in one.
Mayweather too was fighting a sure win but nearly was upset. I had Maidana up but a draw would have been acceptable. Not the scores of 116-112 and 117-111 which clearly suggest wrong doing. Had Mayweather been in with one of the fighters he refuses to risk fighting he would have need these judges.
