Judah was having success til Floyd started chasing him down, same with mosely, he walked down a big puncher like corrales, he chased down a lot f guys in his career..
What fights are you referring to
he chased mosley? seriously, no he didn't, he walked down/pushed back a guy that really wanted to stand there, he wasn't chasing anything

and there was no moment in the corrales fight that he chased or pushed him back, unless you count that flurry after the first kd

you must see floyd as the aggressor in every one of his fights if you think he walked down corrales

anyway, cotto and judah, when they actually moved, had floyd falling into the ropes and just following, he lunges alot when chasing, and when he doesn't he just walks to you with his shoulder, and ny experienced guy will just turn him

but against cotto he did well to stop chasing and just wait for cotto to come to him(similar in a way to pacquiao's moaning to stop guys from moving), floyd just basically doesn't go forward anymore

and a weakness to southpaws, he just pulls back on the left hand even when he has the adopted high guard, it stays open down the middle

Not taking anything away from johnson as a fighter, but can't consider him to be one of the most skilled ever
You dont think so? I could see what youre saying at first, partly because of old technique and old film.

But being the master of defense, especially with his hands, I would think he has to at least be worth a mention. You cant say his ability to stay poised, time, position, and accurately pick off shots wasnt impressive. He could literally walk you around the entire ring with the smallest step, its actually very impressive thing to watch. Its actually pretty ****ing awesome.

He'd draw you in like a fly then have running.

All the fights I mentioned, Floyd at some point walks or chases guys down.. He doesn't do it the entire fight but he is def very capable at it..

What fights have you seen where he did it poorly and is the weak link in his skills

Don't get me wrong, johnson had skills, I just don't think he had one of the best skill sets in history.. He was awkward and had his own style, and he was very skillful in what he did, but just like a winky wright, they have a really good style that fights their skillset and were very successful but they don't possess an all around skill set like a robinson, Floyd, etc...

I doubt johnson is on the same level of skill when it comes to things like working off the jab, fighting off the back foot, etc..

Again you have no counter argument other than to insult me. gene tunney was the most skilled boxer ever. that's it. you can respond with insults while I take the high road with historical facts.

So your opinion that Tunney was the most skilled boxer ever is a "historical fact".

My opinion is that Tunney never fought any black opponents. Now that is a historical fact.

Well I think well have to agree to disagree there.

Just because he doesnt have the classic leading jab style I dont think that dismisses his skill set. In my opinion what killed boxing was when diverse styles became a much more rare thing, and everyone started employing a poke-for-points style mimicking Ali.

Jack Johnsons countering is awesome. Like Jack would say himself, "Its like they knock themselves out!"

Who else could it be? The technical prowess of the South Korean master-boxer makes Lionel Rose look like a poor man's version of Rocky Marciano.
