I dare say his services to the sport have been overlooked, and then some.

As IronDan said, he defeated 12 Hall of Fame fighters in his career, spanning from Flyweight to Welterweight. I think I'm right in saying that he holds the second most HoF names on a resume behind only Harry Greb, who has 13. People talk about Manny Pacquiao being one of the top 50 in the history of the sport, well McLarnin done what Pacquiao did, only Jimmy beat Hall of Famers throughout his rise in weight. An incredible fighter.
Manny beat his fair share of HOFers in MAB, EM, JMM, all multiple times, plus Oscar, Shane, Cotto, Hatton,,, maybe even bradley,,,
Not trying to compare manny's resume vs mcclarin's-- just pointing out the fact that manny had his fair share of HOF fights-- he has 9 just between the mexican stars

Do you feel he is the best welter All time like boxrec,,,,

No doubt his resume is very stacked,,, but boxrec rankings are really weird if you look at them closely,, I think they have Oscar ahead of Sugar ray,, and if you look around at other divisions, they are some random picks

I agree about boxrec rankings. For the most part they are very strange.

          No, I don't. I have him at #7 WW.

Boxrec's rankings are not legitimate at all.

Yes, Pacquiao is obviously a great fighter himself.

BoxRec rankings are a load of s**t. Until recently, they had Roy Jones as the greatest Cruiserweight of all-time.

I have him ahead of Hearns.

                I have Hearns at #10.

Really??? I think hearns was a monster at welter, and had to take another top 3 welter all time like SRL to beat him, and it took huge guts and courage for SRL to do that,,,

In terms of resume, which i know you put alot of emphasis on, mcclarin has alot better resume at welter..

I tend to lean towards h2h and then resume when ranking guys,, but i guess it would be no fun on the forum if we all agreed

Hearns is a great WW and H2H wise I see your argument but I don't think he has the depth there.

He has some impressive wins there most notably the destruction of Cuevas but his resume isn't too strong. Him being #10 even for me is based quite a lot on H2H abilities.

The only thing worse than boxrec's ratings is their fictitious fight schedule.
