        Top 15-20 minimum for sure.
Well, considering how stacked with greats light heavyweight is historically, 10 or 15-20 isn't bad at all.

Sure he was inexperienced but as was Roy. It was both ther first title fight.

Hopkins was close to his prime then IMO. Prime years but not peak in terms of experience but still a great win to have especially when you're green yourself.

I'd have Roy Jones top 30 range. Amazing fighter with a great resume and the fighter of his era.
The Hopkin's win was a good win, maybe even a very good win but I don't know if it was really a great win. I think Hopkins didn't really turn into a great fighter until sometime in the late 90. I can see the point you are making though but couldn't it be said that Jones was quite a lot farther along in his development than Hopkins?

Do you think Jones' resume is great because of the quality of opponents he defeated or because of the manner he defeated his opponents in his prime? I am really not sure I could consider the quality of the opponents on his resume, particularly at the time he fought them, as constituting a great resume, however the manner in which he defeated them did suggest real greatness. I'd be interested to know what you think are his best 5-10 wins.

I agree he wasn't at his peak which came more into the later end of the 90's but he was already of world class quality by 1995, they fought in 93.

Jones was more experienced but still very I experienced. Especially as a pro. Both were green at the time as Pro's and neither were peak. I think Hopkins tends to get a pass for that yet Jones wasn't close to his peak either.

In understand your point but I still think it's a very good win, at least. Against an ATG in his prime years and a few years I experience shy of his peak, especially considering Jones was green too.

I think Jones' resume is great for both reasons. Sure, he had a lot of dud fights but he also fought top quality contenders from 160 to HW and beat them all in extremely impressive fashion outside of 1 or 2.

As for Roy Jones top 5 wins, hmmm, I'm not too sure.

                  Completely off the top of my head, I'd probably have;

                  1. James Toney
                  2. Bernard Hopkins
                  3. Montell Griffin
                  4. Virgill Hill
                  5. Antonio Tarver

Again that's entirely off the top of my head, but that's probably the five I'd have unless I'm forgetting someone.

That's pretty impressive if you ask me.

john ruiz should be his 3rd best win.id say eric clinton woods over virgil hill, and i think julio gonzalez is a really underrated win given that julio would go on to beat michaelski

                    toney
                    hopkins
                    ruiz
                    tarver
                    woods

                      I could see that, yeah.

I just think Griffin's underrated, very good fighter IMO.

Virgil Hill was #1 at LHW at the time.

Woods is a good solid contender and a good win but me myself I'd lean on Hill over him.

Agree with you though all the wins listed here are good wins IMO.
