Who in History has the best chance of Beating Ray Robinson?

This is easy, real easy Carmen Basilio, Jake La Motta (but only 1 out of 6 I predict). Gene Fullmer, Randy Turpin for a start. Well yes I know that's cheating but they did score wins over him and I do feel that there were guys before who would threaten them. .................................................. ................The class difference between Basilio and R. Turpin is very significant which makes the Turpin loss see very out of character for Ray. Given that these guys beat Ray at least once and that a guy like Les Darcy would probably smash them to bits, Darcy is very big for a middleweight so to me a Robinson v Darcy fight is so unknowable but I do feel that Darcy could have beaten any MW ever on a given day. Greb v Robinson is another unknowable result but I sure bet that most of you have thought about that one. Ray being far from a BIG MW, I am not at all sure how Walker vs Robinson at MW would go, or at WW either but I pick Robbo anyway. I think Walker although very successful above WW, I believe from a small amount of video I have of him at WW that Walker was about as quick as any WW to ever live, man he had fast hands at that weight. Ray like every fighter in history can be beaten, and there are a few types of fighter who had the tools to make Ray struggle. In the end it probably comes down to how Ray is feeling on the night, if Ray turns up at his absolute best, no one beats him that night. He outpoints Les, may even put him on the floor for a while, same as if he fights Greb. .................................................. .................................................. ..................Rays greatest edge is that he was the smartest, one of the most scientific and his true X factor was punching power, he hit incredibly hard and would hit you 3 times in the one spot within a second. he truly was the guy with the complete package. In a 5 fight series I feel he beats any WW. At middleweight I am not so sure because I hold great store in the bigger guy as usual winner and Ray although tall never really looks like a middleweight to me, nor Walker for that matter. Hagler, Fullmer, Darcy and Roy Jones at middleweight are truly montrously big, those four guys capable of simply ending your night with one sudden shot you never see coming and those 4 can beat anyone on their best night (except Fullmer who isn't in the same class as the other 3). Last point, Ray's chin... that was what always kept him in the fight, his chin was A+ x3Last edited by McGoorty; 11-07-2013, 12:04 AM.
