I know what you're trying to say and what your argument is.

That that's the reason he may be inducted.

It doesn't stop it from being a ******ed outlook.

Because you say so right? Nothing I said was unreasonable, it is reasonable to think that Sergio could make it into the list based on his popularity and achievements because many others with less accolades have made it into the list.

Keep in mind that I'm not arguing that he deserves (unlike you) to make it into the list; although I think a case can be made that he does.

Totally agree, holyfield has fought 15 round championship fights, and went on to challenge guys like Valuev and Sultan decades later,,, incredible feat, and he was robbed vs Valuev...

evander and oscar are the two guys i have witnessed in the last 30 years that fought everyone- win or lose

4x HW champion, greatest cruiserweight of all time, wins over almost everybody. one of my favorite fighters. i only wish that he had come along a little later. i was very young even when he fought tyson, for example. around 10 years old. i really wasn't able to be a true boxing fan when he was in his prime, as i couldn't buy ppv, hbo / showtime, etc. i saw almost all of his big fights well after they happened. i did see ear-gate live, though. that was the biggest sports story of the year, IIRC.

Was one of the biggest stories in history, at that time it was crazy.

Holyfield is a great fighter, one of, if not the greatest of the modern era.

Like I said, I know what you're arguing and that might well happen.

Again, that doesn't mean it's not ******ed.

Not because "I say so", just common sense dictates it. Justifying someone to get into the HOF because of another undeserving fighter being in there is just plain idiocy.

But that's not what you're doing, apparently.

It seemed like you were saying I should believe he deserves to be in the HOF because Gatti is in. But again apparently that's not what you're saying.

Like I said, it wouldn't surprise me if he got in considering the standard of recent years.

                Depends what you consider "Leagues".

Barney Ross is a Top 20 ATG as far as I'm concerned.

Holyfield's an ATG but and Top 40 Minimum IMO but he's not close to Ross.

you will get a kick out of this:

because of the irish demographic in the boston area, the most locally hyped fight of my lifetime was tyson - mcneeley. it was huge.

Obviously not because of McNeely Just solely because it was Tyson's first fight after Prison.

The numbers it did were crazy. The gate and all of that stuff.

I think they are both 25-50 range, but to each his own
