Louis-Conn was a great choice by those who already mentioned it. Conn will forever be known for that effort rather than his HOF lightheavyweight career.

Another addition would be Tyson-Ruddock, both I and II.

It was typical Richard Steele bull****. Not the worst I've seen, but you don't stop a major fight that quickly.

Has anyone mentioned Barrera in the first Moralles fight? Not only should he have got the decision but I think it was his finest performance ever.

Whitaker showed some of his most elusive work ever; sheer defensive wizardry at times against De La Hoya.

Walcott against Louis 1 & 2 are two of my faves. Also Walcott vs Marciano 1. Jersey Joe looked terrific in all those losing efforts.

Hearns landed some great punches, if it was a one sided beatdown nobody would be talking about it as such a great fight, as such a war.

I won't say Hearns looked good in defeat though, mainly because he was carried out in another man's arms like he was a child. Not sure why no one thought how that would look before it happened.


I'll say Frazier and Ali III both had them looking like warriors by the end.

I haven't seen that fight, but what difference does it make if it was a "major fight" or not? Is the safety of main-event level fighters less important than the safety of ham-and-eggers?

Joe Gans looked pretty good despite his age against Battling Nelson.

Rosendo Alvarez looked great against Ricardo Lopez.
