lets face it ray has only admitted to holding mits for a 14 yr old Tyson. 5,11 was stated in a lot of fights which was too far but he aint 5, 9, he is 5, 10. He looks smaller because hes wide and hes slouched but the discussion about Marciano is probably the most ****** thing ive heard. Rocky is tough as hell and 1 hell of a fighter but he got floored early twice, 1 by archie more and 1 by Walcott (not a big puncher.) Mr Michael Tyson weighing in at 218 pound of leeeeean leeean muscle, rocky weighs 190 pounds. This fight is just not fair, a few uppercuts should do it

The thing is that people are talking past each other. I mean if Tyson is slightly shorter than a six foot iron Dan then he is probably around the height that Ray has said.....the difference is what? an inch or so?

Well, when you add an inch or two to Marciano and take an inch or two from Tyson to suit your agenda, it creates issues. He also likes to slim Tyson down to 205 or some bulls hit.

Im 5'11 and a half, Tyson was shorter than me in person, I'd guess 5'10

I messaged Vinny Paz about the picture I had seen of them and asked him about Tyson's actual size, this is his response...

"He's 5'9" and bigg Just the angle makes me look bigger Joe! *** that!! I don't wanna get hit by that mutha***r!"

Its nice to see that you're getting some respect on the forum now Ray. You were given all sorts of grief when you joined; but its good to see that folks are now starting to appreciate your experiences and the life you've had in boxing.

I've never met Tyson personally, but whatever his height......be it 5'9 or the often quoted 5'11.5 he did seem to use his lack of height to an advantage well in his prime. Bottom line; he was short for a heavyweight.

I don't know Ray that well but have always enjoyed his input but there are or have been some other great posters. I will put up stuff I think is just plain funny as well. The guys I like the most are those like Ray and Rob Snell to mention just two, (Rob does a lot of work bringing many long half forgotten champs and notables in his newsletter, if you are not a subcriber to his newsletter you are really missing out.
We also have guys that I agree with half the time and vehemently oppose the other half of the time, Klompton (Steve) is one of them. Steve has made some posts that really git under my skin but it was because the man is extremely passionate about his favorites especially Greb, but all in all the guy is smart, smart enough to be an author. And I respect everyones right to an opinion.
I welcome any input in this thread except for when it crosses the line into personal insults. The thread is only for the positives and the hilarious the rubbish will be removed. (not referring to your nice post).
I shall look forward to more posts from our Mr. Corso, I never imagined he had ever stood next to Marciano. Marciano was lampooned a bit early in his career but as his career progressed always in the upwards direction he gathered fans by the tens of thousands, many of those fans were previously critical of Marciano's style. Once Rocky was champion people opened their eyes to his stamina, chin, awesome power etc. I for one have no doubt that he hit a lot harder than Joe Louis but also no doubt that Joe was more accurate and more likely to land the one you don't see coming (the one that turns out the lights) but in terms of brute force (like on a heavy bag), Rocky wins hands down in the power dept.
