yet your going to say without a doubt that jones would be a prime hagler,,,
please, buck what facts lead you to this conclusion: That roy was a once in a generation athlete,, greatest athlete ever in boxing,,, Yet he dodged some many names he makes floyd look like SRL
You dont even give any mention on how roy beats hagler,,,
you just say jones,, anybody that says hagler is an idiot,,,,
Great logic there
I wouldn't bother Sugar: Cardinal is just on this site for trolling. What he knows about boxing could fit in a thimble with room to spare
Is this really any different to someone putting forth the argument that Roy Jones could be rattled if someone with power caught him flush on the chin? All fighters have their own weaknesses, it just so happens that in this case each fighter possesses the other's "kryptonite". This one is a close call, IMO.
Who caught and rattled Jones in the lower weight classes? I wouldn't bank on Hagler accomplishing that.

The same amount of people that outboxed Hagler to a decision while he was in his prime; None. We know that the scenarios discussed are capable of happening to each fighter at some stage, though, and since both fighters were so good to the point that they never lost while in their primes, we kind of have to clutch at straws in coming up with ways to think of how they could possibly be beaten. Roy has been KO'd, just like Hagler has been outpointed.

Ahh, is that how things work around these parts? Thanks for filling me in.
Well, Hagler did drop rounds to guys who tried to box him, even lost fights before peaking. Roy, on the other hand, never won a fight which he got rattled in around 160/168. He just didn't get rattled. Toney caught him a few times and it didn't seem to matter.

Roy didn't really fight anyone at Middleweight to test the theory out. Other than the Hopkins win, who isn't a renowned puncher by any means, Jones' Middleweight career is a whole lot of nothing.
I'm always gonna pick jones he's my all time fav fighter but there's no way he'd have a easy time with hagler he's chin and boxing ability would be a lot to over come plus he has a deceptive reach its 75 inches that's a lot for a guy that's 5'9 mix that In with his head movement and that means he can still reach you because he's long enough to be in position to hit you still while dodging shots. So jones can't just run away popping off quick flurries. Haggler would Prbly win.
Hagler would break him. I can see Roy starting fast but Hagler would wear him down eventually. BTW Hagler was robbed against SRL and was far removed from his prime, not to mention the fast that Roy didn't have half the chin Leonard had. Roy had a lot of power, but if Hagler could shake of Hearns' right hand, is there anything that could stop him?
I don't think anybody would have predicted what jones did to Toney. And I think if they had never met people would be saying stuff like Jones would win the first few rounds with his speed but then Toney would start to catch up later on. And Toney was a masterful boxer, he just didn't have the speed to trouble prime Jones and imo if you don't have the speed against that version of jones you are in for a tough tough night.
