Just heart ruling the head i think. Often happens where Hearns is concerned. But yes, you're right, he should'nt be on there.

Wrong Tommy.. Should've gone for Loughran

Page after page, list after list, and not a single mention of Harold Johnson amongst the Top 10.

I can't see any feasible way that he is not a Top 10 LHW.

      He's #5 on my list.

Ezzard Charles and Archie Mooe are consensus #1 and #2.

There's only one man who beat them both..

Charles 1 and Moore 2? Okay, sounds good to me. Where do you rank Michael Spinks? Or Roy Jones?

Don't follow Light Heavyweight boxing very much but Roy Jones Jr., Archie Moore, Michael Spinks, Ezzard Charles come to mind. Antonio Tarver might make a top 15-20.

Count me in on Charles as well...had him there when I did a list a few years ago:

Ezzard Charles. No doubt in my mind.

Why didn't Charles get a shot at the light heavyweight title then? How was the champion or champions able to avoid him?

no one has mentioned james toney. his fought now for 20 years going from middle weight in the 80's to heavy weight early 2000's. fought all the best fighters he could get his hands on the whole time, never got knocked out, never even looked like he was being beat, only ever lost out of laziness. too much love for the boxers of yesterday. toney would put a whooping on most "great" fighters of the black and white tv era. ezzard charles included.
