Frankly I'm too lazy to research, but my gut tells me they're not the weakest heavyweight champions. Ingo's complete annihilation of Patterson after discovering his right hand (in the 3rd. round of the 1st. fight) is enough for me to spare him that dubious label. The "Amblin' Alp" was once so dominant they considered creating a special "Dreadnaught" division for guys his size... that was until Joe Louis poleaxed him in their fight.

depopamroy;are you for real. "Floyd would beat him in a rematch"? Do you actually know they fought 3 times?? Not another rube. Ray.
haha you called someone a rube, you must be older than I am! Hey at least he predicted properly....Floyd DID win that third match.

Johansson I think was better than he is given credit for. Now I don't think he was elite but I think he was decent enough to make most heavyweight champions break a sweat.

Primo appeared to have very limited skills but he seemed to be willing to take a beating and at least appeared to have some stamina. I'd say Carnera is near the bottom but not the worst.

I'd say the worst of all time was Nikolai Valuev... Anyone who gets taught a boxing lesson by 46 year old Evander Holyfield is bad...

I may be wrong on this one, but I fear this is another case of the " They're European and only held the title for a short period of time - they must be the worst in history!" bug, which is often exhibited on here.

Yep, Ray Corso, I'm for real. Floyd Patterson was a far better boxer than Johansson. It was a fluke, nothing else. And what's a rube? I'm not very familiar with the american lingo.

A "Rube" is what you might say to an unrefined unintelligent type circa 1940's up until maybe early 60's. Its definitely tongue in cheek....Its not like calling someone an out and out jackazz. Actually its not even pejorative so much as a descriptive term.

Just feel good that unlike me....you do not know the term....like stated earlier one dates oneself with the knowledge of certain terms....Now if you will excuse me I have to grab somethng out of the icebox and watch a broadcast with some cool cats.
