aha! yes...i love good-natured debating. Keep 'em coming.

I personally consider the Johansson win over Patterson a fluke. Floyd would beat him in a rematch any day any time, thats what I feel.

And as for Carnera, sure he had heart...but the guy got ****d by Max Baer, and that match speaks volumes about his chin.

Both had below-average boxing technique. Definitely not fitting to be the heavyweight champion of the world. Of course, they were pros at the end of the day, but you get what I am saying, right?

They were alot better than Ibragimov and several other paper champs the last ten years.

^Oh yes. Yes. At least they were champions who earned it, somewhat...

I did not take into consideration the recent era of HW boxing, which, in all honesty is a disgrace.

Baer was very good when he wanted to be. He may have had the best, or at least the most powerful right of any fighter sans Louis in the division.

Baer had one of the hardest right hands in HW boxing history, no shame in losing to him.

Ibragimov was not a bum, he had a good amateur career and became champion in the pros. Same with Chagaev for example. Or Brewster - he also won a medal in the olympics.

Yes, but Audley Harrison also won an Olympic goal medal. That doesn't always mean you'll be a great pro.

sure, Max Baer fooled around when he wasnt killing people inside the ring...but do you people remember the number of times Carnera fell down? Now, can you imagine someone like, say...Vitali Klitschko falling down so many times? Of course I am not saying his whole career was just this one fight, but you have to admit, it was pretty pathetic.

Yet he kept getting up even with Max in his face pummeling him while he was trying too stand and he still finished the fight on his feet, you're right it really does speak volumes about his chin.

It should also be noted that Carnera injured his ankle (X-Rays after the fight show it was broken, along with torn ligaments and a chip of the ankle bone) in the first round when he fell from one of Baer's shots.
